I've wiped battery stats a billion times, actually. I guess I'll try the factory reset; that might work. Except that factory reset only wipes the /data, not the /system; should I re-flash RUU? That's a bit of a pain though.
Battery stats file does nothing as of 4.0
Tell me some good apps for Optimus 4X HD.
Okay good.
LG's flagship device of 2011, the LG optimus 3D, which I have, is still running Gingerbread. And not even 2.3.7, just 2.3.5. They haven't updated since December last year, not even a minor update. LG is literally the worst with updates. Besides that, my phone is god damn slow. Sometimes I press a button, and it takes several seconds before I see the button being pressed on the screen. This is all on stock ROM, with many of the default apps uninstalled through root methods. When I turn on the phone, it doesn't immediately respond to touch input. This is why I don't have a lockscreen. If I want to turn it on and unlock immediately, I can't. I have to wait a second. THAT is why I hate LG.
I had a new phone of lg's with ICS, and I had none of those issues. The one issue i did have is forgetting that it was in my lap when I stood up. I really hope they update to 4.1 or 4.1, but if they don't I will just put a custom ROM on it and move along.
Remember how ICS introduced a Data usage manager?
I find 3G Watchdog is more accurate with data usage monitoring than the ICS thing probably because the ICS thing doesn't measure uploads or something i dunno
The fact that a data usage meter differs anything but very slightly from what your carrier says means it is poorly designed and the designer should feel horrible about themselves, especially if they're getting paid to do it.
So my girlfriend and I are buying each other lots of small gifts this year I can't decided between a C-Pen or NFC tags, help
I got a LG Optimus 2x here and I can confirm, LG is shit when it comes to updates. We'll never see ICS or JB and the phone is still fairly recent - dual core, 8MP camera and it runs all the latest games just fine. Phone itself is great though, only bad part is LG being sucky. They promised ICS a little over 8 months ago, delayed it twice, we've made it past their deadline again and still no ICS. Pretty much given up hope for any updates already, but it doesn't really matter.
So my girlfriend and I are buying each other lots of small gifts this year I can't decided between a C-Pen or NFC tags, help
NFC tags are cool, but one person should not need any more than about 4. 1 for home, 1 for work, 1 for car, and one for bedside table.
No guarantee it'll actually affect the battery stats, but it's worth a shot. Are RUUs like final firmware versions for HTC phones? Maybe the one you currently have is bugged when it comes to battery stats? I'd check XDA for your phone if you haven't already. Once you can shovel through the shit you could find if anyone else has a similar issue.
Yeah, RUU is stock firmware. I guess I'll search XDA (I'm not sure whether I can actually post)
NFC tags are cool, but one person should not need any more than about 4. 1 for home, 1 for work, 1 for car, and one for bedside table.
I could get a pack of 10, but I can't think what I'd do with them, I would like just 1 really to make my phone minimum brightness on one swipe, then normal on another and have it next to my bed for when I'm using my phone in the dark, but 1 is like 2 pounds from amazon so it's not worth it I decided to ask for the C pen, because why the hell not
4.2 on the Galaxy Nexus is an outright disaster, everything is slow, everything lags. There's a half second delay between pressing the power button and the screen turning on or off. I had to roll back to 4.1 to get any semblance of speed or smoothness back.
I have used a Gnex running 4.2, and it was fast and snappy. Also:
Microsoft's #DroidRage Anti-Android Twitter Campaign Backfires A Twitter campaign organized by Microsoft to get Android users to share their malware “horror story” in exchange for a chance to win a new Windows Phone handset has backfired. Here’s the tweet that kicked it off, using the #DroidRage hashtag: Interesting idea, but I’m sure that these are not the sorts of responses that Microsoft was hoping for: Others are just having fun with it: While there’s no doubt that malware targeting the Android platform exists, this seems like a somewhat desperate and ill-thought out campaign. I would have thought that Microsoft would have learned from its mistake when it tried the same thing last year, but alas not. The Windows Phone thing is hilarious, every post is hilarious. Them failing is hilarious.
I seriously dislike samsung kies though. OTA Jellybean needs to get here for AT&T forreal
Lol "Took AT&T 3 months to fix my voicemail after switching to Android. Android IS malware!" I'm dying! I'm actually fucking dying!
I no longer which platform has the most technologically knowledgeable people anymore...
I no longer which platform has the most technologically knowledgeable people anymore...
I wanted to comment on that. Android users are usually thought of as more technically knowledgable. But then you get people like Daniel M whom I don't even need to comment on. And you get posts like this. http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1230751&p=38719904&viewfull=1#post38719904 Wow put up a graph for a two year old phone and pass it off as the one from this year. Nobody will notice! Like I still consider myself an Android user to an extent, and when I look at some of the Android users around the web(especially XDA) I just don't see how that can hold true overall. Lots of them are just so deluded, because they're stuck in 2009/early 2010 where Android devices were indeed better hardware wise than the competition. But that's not true anymore at all for many areas. [editline]6th December 2012[/editline] I guess, with Android you have a group of really knowledgeable people. But because it's so widespread you get lots of people who don't know anything at all.
its only archived by google in mobile weird

All these carrier delays make me happy I've got the unlocked S3 [editline]6th December 2012[/editline] [SUB][SUB][SUB]Waiting in a cupboard for christmas[/SUB][/SUB][/SUB]
I agree with the majority of this article: Why Google should just shut up and buy T-Mobile. Mostly just because I would love to see Google be able to have full control of the network they would put the Nexus phones on. T-mobile has always been pretty open compared to the other 3/4ths of the big 4. I won't say they're perfect, but it's a LOT better than the rest. It's too bad that T-mobile's network isn't up to the same standards as the others. As the article mentions, if Google could secure some extra spectrum for T-mobile it would do wonders. [editline]5th December 2012[/editline] I have no idea why that is the mobile link. [editline]5th December 2012[/editline] It won't let me turn off the mobile site help
I'm just worried that it'd spread themselves way too thin. That's what Larry always feared, that Google would be Google's worst enemy by becoming so large that it can't focus. That's why Google spring cleaned lots of projects, and that's why it killed Labs. Unrelated, but I ordered a Nexus 4 8gb (!!) on the 27th, and a friend who ordered a 16gb has theirs out for delivery today and ordered the same date. Oh well.
SwiftKey Flow beta! http://www.swiftkey.net/flow/ Only tried it for a little bit, looks great so far though. Better than the default on 4.2
