Most likely because I never saw an HTC Tablet on the market, like ever.
HTC Flyer and the Jetstream.
Well that's different because it's probably a variant for people who use normal carriers.
It has a totally different design and slightly updated hardware (better camera).
What happened to said tablet? I guess it was dumped when HTC said they were abandoning the market right?
I never saw any mentions of it ever since the original statement. They got the promised phones out (One V, One S, One X and One XL), but I think we didn't even get to see a render/leak of the tablet.
It has a totally different design and slightly updated hardware (better camera).
That's stupid. Samsung did best with the S3. You carriers all get the same damn design, fucking deal with it. Now they just need to keep em all on the same internals and just modify the radio for freak carriers like Verizon and Sprint.
HTC Flyer and the Jetstream.
Oh yeah

And tell them to fuck off with custom logos, too (Verizon Note 2) The next step after achieving that would be a direct Fuck You for carriers who wish to install bloatware. Allow a carrier plan management app at max, and allow uninstall or disabling it.
Does Google now have a way to change which travel routes show up on the card? I'm interested in the 510 to Seattle and the 7 Everett Transit when I get to Everett Station but I have to go into detail view and peck around to find those routes [editline]6th December 2012[/editline] also am I the only one having trouble trying to input the word "routes" with SwiftKey Flow
HTC shoulda left it at the X/S/V. They've ruined it again by making the Desire C, XL (should not have used Tegra 3 in the first place) X+ etc etc
HTC should've kept their original plan for 2012. 4 phones and a tablet. NOTHING ELSE. And make sure you can give them at LEAST two future major Android versions (the ones with codenames). I can almost bet they'll come up with a similar statement this year, promising less devices with more support for 2013 and then shit out a ton of Desire variants again.
4 phones and 1 tablet is pushing it, but yeah they're still spamming out new models, just to a less extend.
HTC shoulda left it at the X/S/V. They've ruined it again by making the Desire C, XL (should not have used Tegra 3 in the first place) X+ etc etc
A desire c is a 600mhz phone with ICS + Sense, mother of god.
A desire c is a 600mhz phone with ICS + Sense, mother of god.
Is it a single core? If so, WHY THE HELL DIDN'T YOU (HTC) BRING ICS TO THE DESIRE-Z DAMMIT!! [SUB][SUB][SUB]10/10 yes i maf[/SUB][/SUB][/SUB]
Is it a single core? If so, WHY THE HELL DIDN'T YOU (HTC) BRING ICS TO THE DESIRE-Z DAMMIT!! [SUB][SUB][SUB]10/10 yes i maf[/SUB][/SUB][/SUB]
Yes, yes it is a single core. You can start raging now.
It's also a Cortex-A5.
It's also a Cortex-A5.
So that means it's good? Bad?
So that means it's good? Bad?
Bad, its an old architecture
Anybody else become vaguely attached to a phone after owning it for a while? I've had my Desire Z for so long, and I hated it for most of the time I owned it, but it's put up with my abuse, and now I'm about to dump it in exchange for £50, and it'll pass the burden of being my phone onto the galaxy S3
In my opinion, my ideal Android OEM would have these and only these things under current market conditions. Phones: A high end handset. A midrange handset. A low end (budget) handset. (any one above is optional, all three preferred) Tablets: One tablet in both 7 and 10 inches. One higher-end 10 inch (hybrid or whatever gimmicky stuff they want with it). All in varying storage sizes if they want to broaden the scope even more. But 2-3 phones and 2-3 tablets should be plenty and easy to keep updated. And the cycle needs to slow the fuck down. A 9-12 month life cycle for some of these current phones is fucking ridiculous. The market is getting over-saturated and none of the phones being released now are up to par. It's like they quit working some aspect half way through just to meet a release deadline.

[editline]6th December 2012[/editline]
You can always get a custom rom
Threw CM7 on it one week after purchase. Currently on a unofficial port of CM9, but keeping my eyes on the unofficial port of CM10.1

I'm calling you three out. If you're going to disagree, please elaborate because I don't see how it doesn't make sense.
Your ideal OEM is Apple but running Android. It's the ideal OEM for a lot of people I think.
Thats the dream
Your ideal OEM is Apple but running Android. It's the ideal OEM for a lot of people I think.

A high end handset. A midrange handset. A low end (budget) handset. Gotta say if Apple made Android phones, that would be pretty good.
So where's Apple's mid/low-end devices? Sure they can make them easily but still... Gotta say if Apple made Android phones, that would be pretty good.
Apple sells three phones at once, right now it's the 4/4S/5 which are priced basically as budget, mid, and high. For tablets, they have the Retina iPad as a flagship 10" and the iPad 2 as a 10" with a lesser specs. They also have their 7.85" mini iPad. If they all ran Android it'd fit his requirements pretty well.
Your ideal OEM is Apple but running Android. It's the ideal OEM for a lot of people I think.
Basically. Except for the cycle still being too fast. But that's all across the market. Think how much better the skins and updates would be if a company were to have one big release party every October to launch a new line like the one I described. I think 12 months is a reasonable cycle for the speed at which technology is progressing. But once the progression slows (as it inevitably will), the cycle should be at least a year and a half. I get pissed when OEM's release the same fucking phone, but repackaged. It's like the new RAZR and Maxx HD line. "Herp we changed the screen and chassis!" So annoying.
So apparently I need a 64gb microsd card because my 32gb one is almost filled. Then I deleted some stuff and will soon delete some large games. I haven't filled it this much since ever.

Phone: Nexus 4 (cheap, high end specs minus LTE) Tablet: Nexus 7 Nexus 10 I just hope the manufacturers take the example and run with it.
They're lying cunts: http://www.facebook.com/notes/lg-mobile/ice-cream-sandwich-ics-os-upgrade-schedule/334420639902596 Which quarter is it? I didn't know about this thread back when I bought my phone. I didn't even have a clue about Android updates. WiFi doesn't always turn off completely, draining my battery like fuck when it bugs out. Mobile hotspot crashes my phone when I try to turn it on. When I turn on 3G, I get this annoying message "ARE YOU SURE?". Also it drains my battery within mere hours when I keep it on
Optimus One people basically had to beg LG for a gingerbread update, which ended up being awful. Better than stock froyo but there was no effort involved on their part. They tried claiming gingerbread needed a 1GHz CPU. And now the O1 has CM9/10 so fuck LG.
any suggestions for pdf reader apps for a tablet?
For what it's worth, this is why I think Google is doing a great job. It has a high end CPU and lots of RAM. It...pretty much ends there in terms of specs, what would you expect for $300. [editline]7th December 2012[/editline] Oh and manufacturers won't take the example for tablets because Google has basically murdered their own tablet market for all their partners. Nobody is going to recommend anything but a Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 now because frankly there might as well only be two Android tablets, iPads, and Win8 tablets. Nothing from any Android OEM competes with Google's tablets, so nobody buys them, and now manufacturers will just give up in that regard.
