Alright, thanks man. Going for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus though, for I am not to fond of the looks of the Nexus 4, but they are essentially the same/similar as fuck.
You're turning down a huge upgrade of a device because, despite looking nearly identical, you prefer the old one more?
4.1.2 here I come.
Alright, thanks man. Going for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus though, for I am not to fond of the looks of the Nexus 4, but they are essentially the same/similar as fuck.
no... what are you thinking?
my plan is have my beautiful S3 until the note 3 is announced and then save up / sell my S3 and get that a while after it comes out
my plan is have my beautiful S3 until the note 3 is announced and then save up / sell my S3 and get that a while after it comes out
I will get the Note III when it comes out :D. [editline]12th December 2012[/editline] That was the most retarded startup/shutdown animation ever.
Is that fucking Android 4.0? They need to stop.
at least it's not fucking Gingerbread
How's your current phone?
Lumia's just fine. I still kind of miss Android. Maybe I'll trade it for a SGS4 when that comes out :v:
Sit down boys and girls, and I will tell you the story of my Christmas phone journey. It started with my grandmother asking me if I would like a new smartphone. I say yes excitedly, and begin to look for phones. Not wanting to spend too much money, I set my eyes upon the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze. I was sure this was my destined phone, and I was very excited. Tragedy struck. Turns out my grandpa had lost his flip-phone, and, in order to get a new one, he renewed our contract. I was stuck with my same old flip-phone unless we managed to get out of the contract. It was then we discovered that he had signed the contract in my grandma's name without her permission. We were going to leave the contract and start a new one, but as we negotiated we discovered that the salesperson who had told us about the pricing for different plans had lied. It would cost more than we could afford to pay every month. So we then looked around at MetroPCS, and that's when I found the Samsung Galaxy Attain 4G I told you all about earlier in the thread. We were pretty much set to get it at Christmas, but it had been replaced with the Samsung Galaxy Admire 4G, which is apparently a worse phone. As my grandma was about to buy our way out of the contract, T-Mobile went into all-out panic mode. They really didn't want to lose a customer of 6 years. They've decided to give us the choice of three different phones for free. Samsung Galaxy Blaze, LG Optimus L9, and the MyTouch 4G. Looking at these phone selections, I notice that, unlike the 2.3 Galaxy Blaze, the Optimus L9 runs Android 4.0 and has overall similar specs... except it's even got 1080p HD (EDIT: Apparently this is wrong. It's actually 960x540.)! So I will be getting the Optimus L9 for Christmas! By the way, I'm not getting the Nexus 4 or S3 because my family isn't exactly the most financially gifted. We'd much rather get a phone being offered to us free, especially since we're also getting a Nexus 7. EDIT: As we were about to order the phone, T-Mobile exited panic mode and decided the agreement was never made. Back to the Samsung Admire... EDIT 2: T-Mobile somehow decided that they ARE going to give me the phone free. Seriously, T-Mobile needs to make up their mind.
So, what hardware/software would I need if I wanted to walk into my room, and start playing music off of some speakers wirelessly from my phone?
Nfc tags and some computer software.
So, what hardware/software would I need if I wanted to walk into my room, and start playing music off of some speakers wirelessly from my phone?
A bluetooth speaker
Get a bluetooth headset that is able to be connected with a 3.5mm audio cable and connect it to a speaker then when you get home turn on bluetooth on your phone, see it is connected/paired, then start playing music. [editline]12th December 2012[/editline] It's great on the go when you don't like having a long wire connected to your phone.
Nfc tags and some computer software.
but tasker gives you eye cancer
Is it just my internet/WiFi being funny or is the new version of the YouTube app fucked?streams for about 30seconds then nothing but buffering
At this point HTC should just go bankrupt and get picked up by someone capable. Or just stop making stupid Android phones. I have no idea how good/bad their WP devices are.
Yeah, because the Galaxy R/Galaxy W/Galaxy Ace Duo S W T Q is totally different right? Android Police is bashing on a company because it's easy to.
Nevermind, as we were about to order the phone, T-Mobile exited panic mode and decided the agreement was never made. Back to the Samsung Admire...
So apparently the Xperia T/TL/TX 13mp camera sucks worse than 8MP competitors...
but tasker gives you eye cancer
it's also the most useful app on the Play Store form follows function
reinstalled youtube 4.1.47 and it works, hope they fix the new version in a timely fashion it has some useful features and i dont mind the new ui
it's also the most useful app on the Play Store form follows function
never hurts to have any form at all [editline]12th December 2012[/editline] even google employees want that shit fixed
never hurts to have any form at all
Yeah not gonna lie, Tasker is the first app I bought and I don't regret it, but god damn it's ugly as hell.
You always need more ram on Android, free ram isn't wasted ram, it's not Linux it's Android.

Lol yah, that free RAM is wasted RAM rhetoric is bullshit, nobody with working eyeballs says it.

Free RAM is wasted RAM only applies to Windows really, Linux (and in turn) Android suffer a lot when you run low on free memory
Anybody with a working brain who knows how memory work will tell you that "Free RAM is wasted RAM" is the only part of the argument about Android's RAM usage that is true. The actual point they're trying to make is that freeing RAM for the sake of freeing RAM is useless. And it is. It's much faster to hold an app in RAM than to load it from storage. The problem with Android is not that it tries to cache processes, it's that it keeps them active for too long. If Google wants to speed it up, deallocating the RAM isn't going to help. It's going to slow things down. However they do need to mark more memory as "inactive", and earlier, so that applications can use that memory BEFORE they starve to death. Right now the OOM killer takes its sweet time. Let's face it, either the phone doesn't have enough RAM, or you're trying to run too many things at once. Having an extra 200 MB of RAM sitting there doing nothing won't help, what will help is telling the kernel what memory is actually in use and what isn't. This is also what has worked for Windows, Linux, BSD and plenty of other kernels for a number of years, all of which do not exhibit the same problems as Android even though they all use a massive memory cache made from whenever you have free RAM.
Yep, traditional storage never ever fails, and always 100% works.
His point isn't that traditional storage is free of failures, but that you're not dependent on an external source for your data. I don't have to rely on Google being online to plug in a SATA hard disk to my computer.
So apparently the Xperia T/TL/TX 13mp camera sucks worse than 8MP competitors...
Yea its not so great but I'm hearing the Xperia V's photos are better than pictures from the T and since you want Sony to have next gen specs here are some rumors: (Oh and some 2013 devices might have glass back) http://www.phonearena.com/news/Sonys-2013-flagships-tipped-Q4-might-see-a-quad-core-Cortex-A15-beast-with-a-huge-battery_id37496
Now a user in the leaky Sony forum for their upcoming machines, is confirming the specs we expect for the Odin/Yuga, but throws a few more devices in the mix, if Google's translation is to be trusted: quarterly flagship machine: 5 inch 1080P screen A15 4-core 3GB RAM 3,000 mAh battery 16 megapixel camera overall size and Yuga almost.
what app even is that
"System tuner", it's ugly but has a shitload of features, especially if you're rooted.
So apparently the Xperia T/TL/TX 13mp camera sucks worse than 8MP competitors...
The pixels are just too small on the CMOS. That's the issue.
Oh boy I can't wait for the screenshots of 1080p phone screens on my 1366x768 laptop screen
Oh boy I can't wait for the screenshots of 1080p phone screens on my 1366x768 laptop screen
Good thing it can be resized.
no... what are you thinking?
Okay, I looked into both again. And oh boy, you're right, what was I thinking.
it's also the most useful app on the Play Store form follows function
You know, I still can't find any uses for Tasker.
