I would agree if they acted like toggles by default. The basic Android 4.2 implementation is pretty.. basic.
At least there's a percentage level on the battery in QS, that's one plus.
I get 3 hours screen on time on my i9300, sending about 800-1000 texts a day and a bit of browsing. Have to take my charger with me to classes everyday to be able to keep it going all day.

on the contrary, I'd say the S3 has better battery life than expected, even with heavy usage

Unless you play music with the screen off that doesn't sound right.

Thats only little more than 50 texts an hour which isnt that hard.
Also after loving Game Dev Story and Grand Prix Story, what are some other Kairosoft games worth downloading? Or games similar to Kairosoft?

If you allow for 8 hours of sleep, you're doing 62.5 texts an hour, for every single fucking hour of the day, which is absolutely fucking insane.
That's more than a text every minute. You would literally be texting every single minute of your life, you might as well just get a VoIP chat going on at that point.
You'd have to be chatting with like 20 different people at the same time to get enough messages back, so you could reply to them.

Okay maybe I exaggerated a tad, I send around 15-20k texts a month.

Even conservatively speaking, that's 30 texts an hour.

Which isn't actually that many, I text about 10 different people a day even then they only need to send 3 texts to each an hour to be able to reach that.
Would end up cheaper just using something like Facebook Chat or something.
Hell, if you're in the U.S., I think you could just port your number over to GVoice and then send free messages though that.

Unlimited texts on my plan in the UK.
Yeah, but is unlimited texts economical when you've probably already got an unlimited, or very large, mobile data plan?

I get Unlimited Texts, 1gb data and 500minutes for £21 a month.
damn it i wish i had friends to send texts to

You would be surprised just how suddenly your battery drops from sending texts all day, If I didn't text all day I end up with about 50% battery left in the evening
Well I do like android but I've watched a lot of reviews and have seen the downfalls of each device. I figured since I have a Nexus 7 I could get an iPhone and have the best of both worlds. I use emulators on my tablet and I'd use my iPhone for contacting people. I heard Apples messaging apps work well especially since most of my friends have iPhones. That and the camera is better which is perfect for me since I don't have a nice camera and would rather just have a nice camera built into my phone.
That being said, I don't think I like how the iOS is laid out. Android feels so much more open. However I can only compare it to my brothers iPod touch.
I might find a way to deal with it.
Little rant over... Nexus 4 or Galaxy S3? Or something else? I've been weighing the pros and cons (Price, features, software, availability) and I'm left overwhelmed with the massive Android market. Ultimately it will be a bloody battle for my needs between iOS or Android.
If it has to be Android grab the GS3 LTE if not American. Otherwise play around with the iPhone 5 and even the Lumia 920/HTC 8X if you want a decent camera, Windows Phone has communication at the core of the device which sounds like what you're after.
windows phones are actually pretty good, it got good design and it just works... its also fast
the only downside is the lack of apps
Unless you buy a Nokia 610
I had one and everything was buttery smooth until I downloaded the facebook and twitter apps and they were slow and unusable, but I did enjoy the rest of the interface
I also kind of disliked how the FB and Twitter apps looked with the weird swipey left and right things, but that's just personal preference
well thats just bad coding
Man I wish I had text messaging.
Anyways my phone lasts Mr the entire school day (which is 6+ hours) but I'm cheap so I bring my charger to school all the time. Charge it last period and I get fully charged so hopefully I don't have to charge it again until I sleep. So I go through 2 charge cycles a day.

I wish I had a text messaging plan so I can actual text and not be left behind all the time...
You can text me (on G+/GTalk!), you can can of you want :-)
I would suggest an Android thread gtalk group but after the last one it doesn't sound like a good idea.
There was a last one? When? What happened? We could also run G+ hangouts too.
Someone decided to invite every facepuncher on google+ to a single chat
is anyone else getting really tired of the whole android vs ios discussion?
i really cant even read most tech sites anymore because of it, and i noticed ive been using my phone less too because of these things, surprisingly
as much as i dislike apple. I dont really give a fuck anymore, i have my android phone, people have their iPhones.
As long as my phone does the job its ok. I dont use it for anything other than chatting on facebook, text messaging or phone calls anymore and the occasional browsing facepunch. That might change when i get my nexus 4 though
Yeah apple as a company sucks hard but they make really good devices with solid hardware.
Android just suits me better because I love tinkering with stuff.
