CM10.1 complaints
1) You don't have to pull down if you swipe from the edge of the screen (which can get a little tricky when your screen is lower than the edge of the phone). 2) needs a patch that's not merged yet, but it'll work in a few days (SGS2). 3) It's the "app flies away" animation right? Settings - Launcher - Homescreen - disable "Wallpaper quick render". Did this fix that for you?
oops automerge [editline]18th December 2012[/editline]
1) You don't have to pull down if you swipe from the edge of the screen (which can get a little tricky when your screen is lower than the edge of the phone). 2) needs a patch that's not merged yet, but it'll work in a few days (SGS2). 3) It's the "app flies away" animation right? I enabled it for the hell of it and didn't think that was what was causing it thanks man I take it all back CM is still perfect
I enabled the wallpaper hack too and then was all confused why am I getting that animation. I guess there's a reason why it's called a hack in the settings :D And yep, hotspot is generally not yet working, codeworkx had an experimental build before the nightlies started where it was working, but it was not used in the nightlies yet. What do people actually use a dual sim phone for? drug dealers? if I'm correct in thinking only 1 sim can be active at a time
also while the facebook app doesn't utterly blow now (though I'm fairly sure it blowing before was a result of shit coding rather than HTML5) I still can't believe it still relies on the menu button, something that's been deprecated for over a year now seriously there are a total of 3 options that the menu button accesses - settings, logout and about which could all just be put into a menu overflow or even (shock, horror) the SIDEBAR THAT THE APP ALREADY HAS. also the sidebar should really be accessible with a swipe in at any point from the side rather than just the top (like every other respectable app) the inverse of this is of course google currents which is a fucking joy to use and somehow gets better with every single update
It was actually nothing to do with HTML5. Their coding just blows, and now blows slightly less with them using native coding (on iOS it's still somewhat sluggish.) Check out this article http://theverge.com/2012/12/17/3776916/native-facebook-app-vs-sencha-html5-version
My friend with the Nexus S got a note 2, it obviously boots 2x faster than my friends S3 and it's pretty smooth.
So I'm in the market for a new tablet, My old one broke under warranty but it's line has been discontinued so I'm getting a full refund. It needs to be in the £100-£200 price range give or take. Preferably with a 10 inch screen.
I miss having Flash Player on my S3. What exactly are you missing with not having flash player? Most websites use HTML5 now
What exactly are you missing with not having flash player? Most websites use HTML5 now
University and other schools are always behind the times, for one. [editline]18th December 2012[/editline] I got the Nova Launcher 2.0 beta. It's great :)

That's why my dad have a Duel Sim card phone.
One for Work, other for personal use. That's why my dad have a Duel Sim card phone.
I guessed that, but when he has his work sim active, he won't get any personal calls, and vice versa?
I guessed that, but when he has his work sim active, he won't get any personal calls, and vice versa?
I've no idea how that works actually. I think he just switches when he is on/off work.
I've no idea how that works actually. I think he just switches when he is on/off work.
If one knows how to use tasker they can set it based on the time
I guessed that, but when he has his work sim active, he won't get any personal calls, and vice versa?
Some phones are "Active Dual-SIM" which means they're both active at the same time. IIRC the Galaxy Y Duos has this.
Some phones are "Active Dual-SIM" which means they're both active at the same time. IIRC the Galaxy Y Duos has this.
That makes more sense
You could also use one sim on one carrier for talk only and another for text only
Micro-USB port on my GNexus is busted, can't charge it or connect it to my computer, tried with multiple cables. Its still under warranty thankfully, but I cant take it in till Friday, so I've been running on a single charge for 3 days, only turning it on to make calls. I'm still at 78%, so I'll probably make it, but its still a pain in the ass.
Some phones are "Active Dual-SIM" which means they're both active at the same time. IIRC the Galaxy Y Duos has this.
I have no knowledge on the subject, but wouldn't this essentially drain your battery noticably quicker?
I have no knowledge on the subject, but wouldn't this essentially drain your battery noticably quicker?
Not really, other things such as the screen, processor etc use much more power than a radio would.
What's a good ROM for the i9300? Tried Paranoid Android, and a few other CM10 ROM's but I keep going back to MIUI for that theming.
What's a good ROM for the i9300? Tried Paranoid Android, and a few other CM10 ROM's but I keep going back to MIUI for that theming.
Stock!
Question: someone else suggested that I install a Sony stock - based ROM that might give me CM-ish features, would that work in my case with a forever locked bootloader?
One for Work, other for personal use. That's why my dad have a Duel Sim card phone.
is this your dad
