it's basically a phone

Display: 4.3“Capacitive Multi-touch Screen Resolution: 480 x 272
with a itty bitty resolution, on a fairly sized screen.
What do people actually use a dual sim phone for? drug dealers? if I'm correct in thinking only 1 sim can be active at a time
Absolutely, I can't deal all this cocaine until I have two SIMs at once in my phone. (You watch too many movies.)
I don't care how much you've worked with C# or .NET, you should just stick with something you can find support for in case you need help. And what if the project dies off, or breaks and can't be fixed?
I don't know how you can say this with a straight face. What I put in bold can only ever happen with Microsoft's implementation and can never happen with Mono. Even if the project dies off, anyone can pick it up. Microsoft's .NET implementation is proprietary. That means you rely on Microsoft to give you support, and you can't do anything if they don't want to fix your bug. With Mono, you have access to the complete source code, so anyone on Earth knowledgeable enough can help you and fix your issue even decades after everyone but you stopped using C#.NET. You can pay people to do this, it's not exactly rocket science. EDIT: Unless you're talking only in regards to MonoDroid. But it seemed like you were talking about all of Mono.

Anyone know of an app that will do what better battery stats does, but for free?
4.2.1 is just as stable as 4.1.2 in my experience, the one bug I've found is that mobile hotspot doesn't work but that'll be fixed in a few days. Plus I think they;ve transferred development entirely over to 4.2.1 now so you might as well stay updated. Bricking an S2 is basically impossible, just follow the instructions and even if it does go wrong you can just download your factory firmware from samfirmware, com and flash it over, the most you'll lose is the data on your phone (but you'll be deleting this the first time you flash so back up!)
Thanks. So if it goes wrong just reflash it with the original? And is that also what I do if I just decide I dont like it (due to bugs or something) and want to go back to default? Im probably being overly cautious, but could someone give me a step by step guide to get 4.2.1 for my completely defualt Galaxy S2 GT-I9100. I am planning to use this which says I first need this and to install these things I need to use Odin, which I am not sure where to get. Also, is that "rooting" my phone? I saw another guide which says make sure you are rooted first. Is that rooting? Do I need to root? All it says on that jelly bean rom is to get the Clockwork thing first. Also, what is the clockwork thing, its for recovery or something? Thanks. Now I am looking here and it says to use something else, GODAMMIT WHY ISN'T THERE JUST ONE SET OF INSTRUCTIONS, I'M SO CONFUSED. And here it says to root first. So is that clockwork thing the rooting thing?
EDIT: Unless you're talking only in regards to MonoDroid. But it seemed like you were talking about all of Mono.
Sorry I wasn't more clear, I do mean MonoDroid. If I looked at it correctly, it looks like it's a project by just some random company, and they're trying to sell stuff on top of that. If that company vanishes, it's pretty likely that MonoDroid won't get updated enough to stay on top of everything. Then again, I didn't check how big that company was, because I honestly don't care. But I do know that MonoDroid isn't at the "too big to die off" phase. (Also didn't check if source code is available).
i got a galaxy s3 yesterday. what cool shit is everyone doing with their phone these days?
Any must have Apps? One of my favourite apps is Sleep as Android. It's an alarm clock app that tracks your sleeping (via movement), and you can set a 'Wake Up Period' on your alarms, where if you have say a 20 minute Wake Up Period. 20 minutes before your alarm is supposed to go off, it will wake you up when you start moving more, so it won't allow you to fall back into a deep sleep.
Well i'm looking for good apps but i'm also wondering if there's something like cyanogen mod that everyone is using.
Cyanogenmod is not an app. And yes, Cyanogenmod exists. You don't need to wonder about that.
I hate how phone companies cheap out on the speaker inside their amazing flagship phones I know the iPhone has a pretty good sounding speaker, but it's kind of quiet, I wish they'd add speakers like they did in the Nokia 5800, that was basically it's own portable music dock because it was so loud and sounded pretty good
1 day down with my Nexus 4. Thoughts so far: 1: OH MY GOD THIS DISPLAY IS LIKE EYE SEX 2: It's just about as large as I'd like a phone to be, my thumb struggles to reach the opposite top corner and also struggles a little to use the keyboard 3: 4.2 (from 4.1) is awesome, I love the quick(er) settings pane and I haven't had a need to replace the default keyboard, especially considering the swype-esque shit in it now 4: It's fast as shit (but then again I expected that coming from a NS), nothing feels laggy at all 5: Did I mention the display? It's worth mentioning again. 6: Battery's doing okay so far today (8h36m so far, down to 45% with about 60/70% on, does an excellent job of only being "awake" when it's actually doing something), I expect it to improve with exercise 7: It's about the weight I expected, maybe a little heavier than the NS (can't tell right now) 8: THE DISPLAAAYYYYyyy
people sperging over srgb charts again
I honestly don't care for those charts but when I used it you can really REALLY notice how bad the colours are. I've never really cared about screen before (obvious as I used an S2 and S3 before) but it really is bad :-/
From your point of view, is the display better than a Galaxy S2/S3?
From your point of view, is the display better than a Galaxy S2/S3?
Well it's hard to say, easier to compare it to the note II (could use S2 but way lower PPI) as then they're both not pentile. People generally favour over saturation compared to under saturation and I agree with that because when everything looks so dim and lifeless it sort of loses it's charm. Even with the system UI. I mean from the how sharp and stuff is, yes, the N4 has a good screen but obviously that's not the full story.

Even with the system UI.
Undersaturation is better until things start looking....greyish. You have blue on the screen that is 60% saturated and blue that is 100% saturated. An iPhone 4 for example, the 60% blue and 100% blue render the same due to the screen's reduced gamut. On an S3, the 60% is somewhere ABOVE 60% and the 100% is somewhere ABOVE 100%. It just exaggerates and distorts the colors in the original image. NOTHING at all is rendered the way it should be, except for the color black.

Ok which version of Odin am I meant to use with my Galaxy S2 I9100?
I use a no-name Chinese monitor as my main PC screen, I honestly don't give a fuck about all this colour bullshit.
Ok which version of Odin am I meant to use with my Galaxy S2 I9100?
I used Odin3 v1.85 a lot back when I needed it (Now I just flash CM updates using their own updater) and it worked perfectly fine. There's a new version, Odin3 v3.04, but I have no idea what changed. Also one other question: -It says "Make sure you're running a proper working ClockworkMod-Recovery" -On the ClockworkMod page, it says "After reboot you can easily root your device using SuperOneClick" Do I have to root to install the Cyanogen 10.1? Thanks.
okay so i saw my first n4 yesterday and honestly i don't get the whining about the screen, oh and the back looks awesome (also had a n4, a n7 and a n10 all within a couple of feet of me but thats beside the point)
