I'm with Ezhik then, paranoidandroid is a nice ROM. You could also play with MIUI or look for a CM10 build
Just got myself my first Android device! (Sony Xperia V) It's pretty amazing going from a Nokia with a b&w 64x48 screen :v:
Anyhow, I figured out that it came with some unnecessary bloatware, and I uninstalled it.
other than that, is there anything like apps/widgets I should be having, or at least check out?
Also, ran some benchmark I found:

I'm really hoping apps from Kairosoft get on this holiday game sale.
They really are one of the best companies for making games on smartphones.
I have:
Game dev story
Beastie bay
World Cruise story
Epic astro story
Pocket league story
and i'm looking to get Mega mall story and Pyraplex now.
I already have Game Dev Story purchased from back when I had a ZTE Blade.
Really good game.

I think I'd get an actual stroke from a technology jump that big D: congrats.
So the new rom + semaphore kernal on my I9000 has done wonders to my battery life.
On tuesday, using a similar ROM and the same kernal, i lost about 60% battery over the same time period.
Today, i lost 10%, while running both skype and steam, rather than just steam.

Is it bad that it's the non-emulator game I've played the most on my Desire-Z?
Well it looks like the world didn't end, yet...
In other news it's actually snowing where I'm at.

Contacts really puzzle me in Android
I bought a ZTE Blade S for my mom (she doesn't need a top of the line phone), made her a Google account.
We added each other to Google+. I checked her Google contacts and THREE DUPLICATES OF ME APPEARED.
None of them with my phone number. Which is supposed to be available to my family circle in G+. There's no merging possible. On my sister's GS II, it's only two duplicates. Wondering where the third one went.
Similarly, my dad's Galaxy S /never/ wanted to sync his contacts between his phone and google contacts for god knows what reason. Tried everything; lots of contacts on his phone, which he entered manually, but nothing on Google contacts.
And as for myself, on my GS III, i can't seem to be able to filter out all those people i've emailed only once out of my contacts list. there's no "only show people with a phone number" option anymore... or options for that matter
google contacts is really pissing me off

You only need Clockwork. The Cyanogen ROMs are pre-rooted.

So, before I try this. I want to know a few things for sure.
-Only model matters? (GT-I9100), not the baseband or anything?
-I just install the clockwork thing using Odin (I have Odin3 1.85) and reboot etc.
-Install Cyanogen 10.1 via the clockwork recovery thing, after copying the latest nightly build and gapps(also, what is gapps?) to the phone
-If something goes wrong or I dont like the rom and want to go back to vanilla, I just reflash it with the default one from samfirmware.com?
Also, can I backup the default one with the clockwork thing or something?
Please anwer.
Thanks.

What's the verdict on the Asus Transformer Pad?
My sister just got one for xmas
Surprising lack of screen quality discussion on this page.

The screen is okay. Colors are a little washed out.
but seriously,
if you get the dock, the battery just does not die. It is the greatest thing ever.

this screen is off calibration a bit and is therefore useless for reading black text on a white background
I bet SAMOLED stands for SATURATED AMOLED, lol.
Sweet I got 4.2.1 on my galaxy s2, seems awesome so far. Thanks for the help everyone.
Spent 40 minutes trying to re-root my TF201 after an OTA update, to find out that i had OTA root keeper installed which worked as soon as i pressed the button
So what the fuck. I installed ClockworkMod on my phone and whenever i go to the recovery screen it still shows the default android recovery screen.
The Odin screen says i've installed custom shit so it certainly worked. Why is it not using clockwork?
