Contacts really puzzle me in Android I bought a ZTE Blade S for my mom (she doesn't need a top of the line phone), made her a Google account. We added each other to Google+. I checked her Google contacts and THREE DUPLICATES OF ME APPEARED. None of them with my phone number. Which is supposed to be available to my family circle in G+. There's no merging possible. On my sister's GS II, it's only two duplicates. Wondering where the third one went. Similarly, my dad's Galaxy S /never/ wanted to sync his contacts between his phone and google contacts for god knows what reason. Tried everything; lots of contacts on his phone, which he entered manually, but nothing on Google contacts. And as for myself, on my GS III, i can't seem to be able to filter out all those people i've emailed only once out of my contacts list. there's no "only show people with a phone number" option anymore... or options for that matter google contacts is really pissing me off
I don't even know how that happens, Sense links just about everything flawlessly.
Will I brake something if I rename any of the storage places?
excuse me for what may be a dumb question, but I hear that rooting your android is different from jailbreaking an iphone in that if you fuck up you might not be able to recover? i am just wondering cause i want to root my kindle fire 2

So rooting itself most likely won't break your phone. Once you've unlocked the bootloader for the device, it pretty much becomes impossible to truly break. You can always use Clockwork Recovery to reflash a ROM (or factory reset or whatever). And you have fastboot if you somehow break recovery mode (which is pretty unlikely as it is). If you break fastboot....you probably were messing with something you shouldn't be messing with.
Can anyone recommend a battery case for the One X?
Can anyone recommend a battery case for the One X?
Pretty sure Mugen sells them.
I have android phone. When I call my bank or other corporation, they have the system where you must enter numbers "Press 1 if you are a customer", "Press 2 if you are calling about an account issue", etc. I open the dialpad and go to press a number, but when I take the phone away from my ear it turns the screen on for a second and then back off again as if I had put it back to my ear. It usually takes a few attempts before I can keep the screen on long enough to press the key. What can I do? Is there any solution?
Sounds like a hardware fault in the sensor my GF's desire HD has that, it never turns off so she always hits mute with her face during calls :v:
Yeah, I fixed the Desire HD's shitty prox sensor by using an app that raised the threshold for screen turn-off much higher.
Yeah, I fixed the Desire HD's shitty prox sensor by using an app that raised the threshold for screen turn-off much higher.
What is the app name? I hope very much that I can use that app to fix my phone, I've only had it for one year and I don't want to replace it but it's very inconvenient.

Also, does anyone know where I can get the charger desk stand for galaxy nexus? The only place I can see it is amazon.com, where it's "unavailable" and doesn't ship to my country anyway.
I flashed the shit out of my (actually, my sister's old phone) HTC Wildfire and now it has CM9. However, it's slow like shit, same with CM7, the camera is slow to focus and the photos got a shitton of noise, everything regarding the UI is the opposite of smooth, the wi-fi speed is abysmal, the screen looks like something from the '90s, and not in a good way. The only decent things are the strobo torch to blind people and the battery, that manages to stay up for almost a day and a half with pretty heavy use. Really, the strobo torch is scary.
Anyone tried the Archos media player? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.archos.mediacenter.video Is it even worth the pricetag, compared to free alternatives?
Why is my google play store in german help [editline]22nd December 2012[/editline] Oh I fixed it nvm [editline]22nd December 2012[/editline] Can anybody tell me if this controller would work via USB OTG on my galaxy S3?
Sweet I got 4.2.1 on my galaxy s2, seems awesome so far. Thanks for the help everyone.
How exactly did you do that? Im think about doing the same.
Thinking about getting a 32gb Nexus 7 for Christmas, is it worth it? I've been reading shit tons of reviews praising it and I'm almost sold but I'd rather consult thy forum before making a final decision. I have a Galaxy Nexus so they'd make a great pair.

I'm receiving one for Christmas and already snuck it out of the box to use it because I am an impatient manchild, and I was pretty impressed.

Oh, and you basically need to strip it down to the bare essentials. The Wildfire is basically a featurephone running Android, so the performance is about the same.
So. Switched to Android after 2 years of iOS. Went from iPhone 4 to Samsung Galaxy Note 2. It's really fucking nice! Anyone has any tips for a former iOS nerd? I would like to change the color scheme in the phone to something more orangy, how do I do that?
How exactly did you do that? Im think about doing the same.
Assuming you have the GT-I9100 (not the GT-I9100G or something), and that your phone is completely unmodified at the moment: 1. Install ClockworkMod Recovery following these instructions, ignore the last part about rooting with superoneclick, you dont need to root. I used "Odin3 v1.85" to flash it. 2. Install CyanogenMod 10.1 following these instructions. Also, it says to wipe data/cache and do a factory reset, so back up your contacts etc. Though it was strange, I did do those things but my music library stayed intact, I thought it would be deleted. If you have the GT-I9100G, I think its pretty much the same procedure but you need to find the files for that one instead.
So guys Asus TF700T Should I get one?
It's there any way to make the contact portraits be displayed at a higher resolution?
If you want a keyboard dock and super battery, TF700T If you want a good android tablet, go Nexus 7 or 10 If you want to write, get the Note 10.1. Don't worry about people whining about it, it's a fine tablet.
It's there any way to make the contact portraits be displayed at a higher resolution?
Think it was JB4.1 that fixed the contacts and synced high resolution images from gmail. Google+ has always synced high resolution images for contacts.
4.1 just did what 4.0 did, upped the resolution in which you could save the images, but GMail itself was updated like around September this year to actually support saving high resolution contact images.
