Hey Oicano, what's this and this??
So how secure is mobile data from carriers? I remember reading something that it was more secure than wifi, or secure in general, blah blah blah.
So how secure is mobile data from carriers? However, they would need some knowledge, some money and some motivation to do it. Then in addition to that, they would need your device to send unencrypted data (non https) so it could be deciphered. All in all it's pretty unlikely but certainly possible that your information could be intercepted. However, this is a risk for anyone transmitting data anywhere and is not isolated to 3G/WiFi or other mobile device communication methods. Try a google search on 3G security and you'll find plenty of information on the flaws and security holes and how they might be exploited.
http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/7124/is-data-transmitted-over-3g-secure As long as you're using HTTPS, any transmission method is secure. Otherwise, any transmission method can be insecure (well, WPA2 is actually pretty good unless it's a public hotspot). Most bank apps use HTTPS.
Yet the steam mobile app refuses to let me sign in or view profiles over HSPA or LTE because it's not a "secure connection"

I guess I'll use a VPN.
I want to move an entire application, including the appdata to the sdcard so that massive game that still takes up 30MB in my precious internal storage can be saved. What do?
Isn't it 5GB of 4G and then unlimited 3G? [editline]26th September 2012[/editline] Nevermind, just saw that it's 2G on T-mo's site. How fast is "2G speeds", then? I'm looking into getting a Galaxy Nexus from the Play store and the $30/month 100min talk unlimited text and web with 5GB of 4G prepaid plan from them.
They cap me at exactly 60kbps up and down, ping is still HSPA+ ping, which is good.

I highly advise against putting dalvik cache or any kind of cache on microSD unless you feel like discovering just how slow microSD is.
press the power button shove it in my fucking pocket where could i possibly go wrong? nowheere
Don't press the power button for more than 8 seconds if you want to keep your tabs

It was 2 times faster. I think I can wait for my games to load.
Wish adobe hadn't dropped flash support, it's really buggy on my nexus 7. Almost to the point where it isn't worth the effort.
That's the point. Flash on mobile is dead; they don't want it to be worth the effort.
Jetpack Joyride is out in the play store It's pretty damn amazing, get it (its free)
That's the point. Flash on mobile is dead; they don't want it to be worth the effort.
Yeah well until all websites ditch it for other methods, it still sucks. [editline]28th September 2012[/editline] Then again, I suppose people have to start ditching support for it before it becomes obsolete.
http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/7124/is-data-transmitted-over-3g-secure As long as you're using HTTPS, any transmission method is secure. Most bank apps use HTTPS.
When it comes to wirelessly transmitting data, I usually consider how far away the receiving station is. I don't consider my 3G connection secure due to the distance it has to travel to the distance it has to travel and the omni-directional antenna (my phone's and the carrier station) make it much easier for data (encrypted or otherwise) to be intercepted. And while most encrypted data from, say a bank, would be encrypted enough to render it useless (I hope). I would still prefer if whomever intercepts it didn't have it in the first place. Edit: I finally figured out how to tether my N7 via bluetooth instead of burning through battery on wifi-tethering, my phone now lasts three times longer!
Edit: I finally figured out hot to tether my N7 via bluetooth instead of burning through battery on wifi-tethering, my phone now lasts three times longer!
I knew about this but hadn't thought to actually use it, thanks for the memory jolt.

http://appleinsider.com/articles/12/09/27/googles-ilost-motorola-ad-faked-an-address-to-lose-ios-6-maps Classy Motorola. [editline]28th September 2012[/editline] Oh and I hate Apple's maps by the way, it's just silly that they went to the trouble trying to find a fake address when there are lots of real ones Apple's awful maps can't find.
i hate how they think that google is directly responsible for everything motorola fucks up now
i hate how they think that google is directly responsible for everything motorola fucks up now
That was just the first source I grabbed, sorry if it's biased because it's an Apple site.
Does anybody know why my phone (desire z) that came out later than the desire has worse specs than the desire? [editline]28th September 2012[/editline] I know all I do is bitch about my phone :v: I'm not ungrateful I was bought a phone, I'm annoyed I chose this phone when I could of got a galaxy SII or something at the time, it's entirely my fault
Anyone know of any good roms for Galaxy Nexus?
That was just the first source I grabbed, sorry if it's biased because it's an Apple site.
That was so bias I couldn't even finish reading it, more fights are to come from both sides.
Anyone know of any good roms for Galaxy Nexus?
AOKP, CM10, Paranoid Android, they're all good really.

What i did.
whoever ports this to the nexus 7 is a winner [sp]biased biased biased[/sp]

I showed some of my class mates the Android ICS easter egg, they were so amazed :v:
