Even though half the time they only say bug fixes with no actual indication of what said bug was.

I've been thinking about flashing CM 10.1 nighty build on my SGS II, therefore I've got some questions. 1. Is the automatic updater integrated? I've heard somewhere it's possible to download new builds using only phone. 2. How unstable are nightly builds? Perhaps it would be a wiser idea to wait a few weeks more? 3. I would like to preserve settings and application data, any clues how do I save them? 4. And lastly, is it worth it in the end? I'm currently using CM9 and I'm not sure how many improvements will be there.
