and that's why i don't want to use it, i need something that works out of the box, and itunes does that for me
fair enough
I just got the Galaxy S III, and this is my first experience with an Android phone. It's a great device, but I prefer the UI of the Nexus phones. Figuring out how to mod it to look like that.
I can't use stand-alone Android anymore at all, it has to be Cyanogen. Then again, Cyanogen is pretty available on everything I would ever consider having, and it fucking rules, so that's not a negative.

Or you can get a theme, but finding one that looks good enough will be a nightmare. And you need to be rooted to do that. Or you can at least get a custom launcher (search Apex Launcher or Nova Launcher on the Play Store) which will give your homescreen and app drawer a more Holo (that's the stock Android UI name btw) look.
So, is Cyanogenmod really all that? Should I flash it on my GS3? I'm still amazed by going from 2.3.3 to 4.1.2, with all these new features and smooth things, I'm still blown away by multitasking because FINALLY I can have a game up and running, then get a text, close it, respond to the text and then open the game again exactly where I was
i havent made a single modification on my GS3, havent found a reason to do so

You'll lose so many custom features that Samsung loaded the phone with.
i havent made a single modification on my GS3, havent found a reason to do so
I installed SiyahKernel, and got Stweaks and fiddled with some of the EQ's and other in depth settings rooted it, of course the only thing I could think that would make me want a custom rom is the RAM usage on the S3, I have the international 1gb version and it's only a minor problem, but running apps often relaunch when I open then from the multitasking menu, making it pointless as I may aswell just relaunch it anyway as it ran out of memory
i got the LTE version so i have 2GB of ram

The thing I'm really in love with, in regards to Cyanogen, is the rapid development combined with fast and easy installations of the nightlies. Just take a look at this. When a problem is found, code gets created and pushed out at a pretty amazing speed.
I'm on CM10 on my Epic 4G Touch After today's build, I keep getting this popup message on the bottom center of my screen that simply says "/storage/sdcard0." Shows up every five seconds or so. WTF is causing this and how do I stop it?
2.x is the Android OS for smartphones that might as well be featurephones. 4.x is usually for the higher end stuff.
Why yes, "usually" the but them you have my phone and the HTC Desire C having ICS. :v:

Wish there was something similar for the lockscreen, but I'll live.
So I've been using Firefox beta and holy shit it's smooth as fuck. Still in beta hence having bugs all over the place.
So I've been using Firefox beta and holy shit it's smooth as fuck. Still in beta hence having bugs all over the place.
Firefox was a shit browser ever since it hit the Android platform.
My only problem is with it's poor UI
So I've been using Firefox beta and holy shit it's smooth as fuck. Any other browsers to check out then?
http://i.imgur.com/2pcuE.png Should the "Android OS" process be taking this much battery? It was even higher when I woke up this morning, and my device lost like 15% battery overnight
considering "Android OS" is actually all the little shit that doesn't warrant having its own battery meter, the fact that its highest in your battery consumption list is actually not bad
Thanks, I just installed Holo Launcher. Wish there was something similar for the lockscreen, but I'll live.
Holo locker is a lock screen based on the vanilla android locker. It's actually hard to tell the difference between the two. It will display the owner information like any other jelly bean lock screen as well, as long as you're running JB. I use it to replace the annoying Motorola lock screen.
i don't want to theme it i just want it to work fine when i install it
please explain the problem because honestly unless you're installing some older version it's flawless [editline]1st January 2013[/editline]
and that's why i don't want to use it, i need something that works out of the box, and itunes does that for me
...it does work out of the box oh my god just because it doesn't have fancy shit like "OMG ASSORT MY MUSIC BY HOW POPULAR THIS ARTIST WAS" doesn't mean it's bad. it just doesn't feature stupid shit that's only used by a small amount of people who want a music player to fit their custom specific needs
Firefox was a shit browser ever since it hit the Android platform.
It's faster than Chrome now, by a long shot. [editline]1st January 2013[/editline] IE10 is stupidly fast as a mobile browser, just putting that out.
