IE10 is stupidly fast as a mobile browser, just putting that out.
wat
Also, the Galaxy S really should stay on 2.3, 4.x requires all sorts of wacky stupid shit because there's not enough NAND that is actually fast enough to support caches and system files. Also not enough RAM.
GS2 is going to be the phone to get if you want ICS. It'll run it acceptably on JB too but if system requirements keep rising then there's a chance that it might be obsoleted within a few years, and it'll definitely be EOL'd pretty soon by Samsung anyways.
I'm actually somewhat worried, Android can actually stretch to use the 1.7 gigs of RAM pretty closely in phones like the GS3 LTE. Windows, even when trying to keep as much crap in RAM as possible, uses 4 gigs or so, Android should really be using less.

WP8's browser. Insanely smooth and rendering is on par with an iP5 on Mobile Safari.

So, you're openly admitting you don't know how RAM works.
My phone on the other hand probably maxed out on 320MB free back on GB and now it's down to a mere 200MB free at most, only happens when a huge ass game exits the RAM and every other thing that's cached get's some RAM. What can I do in the developers option to make my phone "faster" by booting things out such as G+, etc. without getting a bloody task manager.

It depends on which model of the Galaxy S you are talking about as there are two versions. The first batch has MoviNand and the second batch has iNand.
This story was spread by pawtip, the guy who builds official CM10(.1), who said that MoviNand is slower than iNand and thus they have to fuck with the partitions (all sorts of wacky stupid shit) to make it fast enough to support caches and system files. Since I have the iNand model this was never an issue so I just use an unofficial CM10 build with the original partition layout. Why the CM10 team never offered it as an option is beyond me.
Also from what I've seen, you get more RAM on JB than GB thanks to fancy kernels. Most I have seen is Devil Kernel which you can get 404mb usable RAM
I'm glad that TouchWiz (Nature UX?) is so pleasant to use, because even though I'd like to try out stock/CM I don't think it'd be worth throwing out the stylus of the N7000/8010 out for it.
I've been thinking about installing CWM Touch on my S2, anyone got any comments on it? I'm still using the traditional one.

Give it a go but be prepared to have a backup CWM and Odin ready.

No, unless you have no idea what I'm talking about. At some point, an OS can get so much RAM that it has no goddamn clue what to do with it, and it just sits there unused for other apps to freely access. With Gingerbread 1 GB of RAM was that limit, I have literally never seen an AOSP GB ROM even come close to less than 150 MB of RAM free. With ICS/JB, I regularly see a phone with 2 GB of RAM come close to 100 MB free, which is definitely something that I haven't seen before.

Set your phone to not allow multitasking.
Does anyone know any good free Android games that i can play on my nexus 7 tablet?
Calm down man, it's just a music player, just because people don't think F2K is the best doesn't mean you need to get butthurt about it
it's called an opinion
i'm not, he's was just making an ignorant case about it
considering "Android OS" is actually all the little shit that doesn't warrant having its own battery meter, the fact that its highest in your battery consumption list is actually not bad
Android OS only becomes a big part of battery use stats when you have a wakelock in the background.
What are the chances of bricking your device when rooting?
I want to root my note 2 but this is my first android device and i am scared shitless of bricking it with triangle away

As long as you have Odin with your Samsung device it is incredibly hard to brick. I've softbricked my phone a couple times flashing a bad kernel and just fixed it with Odin and One-click-unbrick.

Worked fine with my Galaxy S2. Installed app, ran it, rebooted and uninstalled.
Is an AOSP-based rom like Cyanogenmod known for offering worse service on a phone than stock? I have a feeling it does on my Sprint S3, but my service is typically awful anyways so it is tough to tell.

It's possible that the ROM uses a different modem/radio or RIL than stock and it is affecting the service. Try to use the same ones I guess.

Interesting. Thanks, I'll look into this.

It's also possible that it's just service fluctuations, happened a lot when I had Sprint (Virgin Mobile)
So would I brick my phone with triangle away if I wanted to get rid of the counter?
Edited: Nvm decided I had nothing to lose other than my first smartphone and did it, nothing happened.
Is there a way to get CM10 to shut the fuck up about Apollo crashing every time I unplug my headphones?
I never even start Apollo so I have no idea why it's running anyway
I froze it in TB

Uninstall Apollo?
Uninstall Apollo?
Yeah I just went into Apps Management and disabled it.

i hope this works.

Cyanogenmod supports the stylus. Its api is in aosp, and is not a proprietary Samsung thing. Even the button on it works.
I run cm on my N8010
When i tether my phone with my PC it creates a new network every time, so far i'm on network 74 (74 times since my old hard drive died this fall)
Every time i do it i gotta tell windows that i want it as a Home Network (if it even matters), is there a way for it to do this automatically?

I'd like to know this as well, it's really fucking irritating.
