Anybody got a Nexus 7 here. Is it good, Is it worth the money?
yes, yes and yes.
macro is supposed to be under focus settings... anyways s3 camera is amazing. [editline]2nd January 2013[/editline] Oh and there's other camera apps to take advantage of the very good camera. stock is very limited.
It's been under "scene" mode on every camera phone, and care to name anything?
I remember Samsing ditching any phone higher than 32gb,, as in the most is 32gb?
Is ANYONE over here running CM on a Galaxy S3?
I am since a couple of days. The only thing I really miss is being able to choose to save pictures to my SD card. I switched to see if it would solve my wifi issues. It did not. Battery life improved significantly though.
It's been under "scene" mode on every camera phone, and care to name anything?
In my stock app, there's a dedicated icon for focus modes. Anyways give ProCapture, Camera Zoom FX, those apps have dedicated focus icons and macro focus mode and the ability to increase the jpeg compression making photos have more detail and image size increases.

Anything that doesn't work or is glitchy? There is a bunch of things like that on the S2.
Well the S3 cam is great with the stock Samsung app already. Another question you S3 owners: Anyone noticing burn in yet? If yes, how long do you have the phone? And do you use automatic brightness? [editline]2nd January 2013[/editline] My status bar area is burned in very slightly. I know about it and it annoys me to no end even though I don't see it most of the time. I have the phone for like ~15 months.
No burn in. I however am a victim of the sudden death bug or whatever basically killing the phone. Sent it in, got a motherboard replacement and works fine now.
Anyway guys, I know I'm kinda flooding it up in here, but I'm a bit too hyperactive about getting a new phone right now. Any case recommendations for the S3?
Is ANYONE over here running CM on a Galaxy S3?
I'm running CM10 on my S3.
Are the WiFi issues present on all units? And I suppose you're running the latest CM10.1, right? Anything that doesn't work or is glitchy? There is a bunch of things like that on the S2.
Oh right, forgot about that. There appears to be some bug with all the latest CM10 releases (stable and nightly) where NFC won't work. It just doesn't turn on at all, they'll probably fix that though. I hope. The WiFi issues are not present on all units as far as I'm aware. The issue I'm having is that I can't connect to any network where I'm more than 5-10 meters away from it, even if it has full bars. And when I am connected and I move out of that range, chances are I'll stay connected, but won't have an internet connection.
I'm having no WiFi issues at all [editline]2nd January 2013[/editline] I also have this case, but I cut out the volume keys as at first the case is quite stiff so it kept holding volume up (combine that with a boosted volume output and you've got some proper ear-pain if you're unlucky) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-i9300-Galaxy-Skin-Cover/dp/B0082AXB7Y/ref=sr_1_82?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1354212242&sr=1-82
I didn't have any WiFi issues at first either, it just happened all of a sudden a couple months after I got the phone.
I'm running CM10 on my S3.
Any specific reason why? I'm just curious. Is it only because of the AOSP look? Also thanks mobrockers2 and FlashFireSix for the replies!
Just got my Nexus 4. It's awesome. I come from an old HTC Hero, so it's a big step up. Sadly my sim card doesn't fit (I tried cutting it down to size, but I must have fucked it up), but I can still use it. Not that I'll actually be using its phone features much anyway.
Is there any way to make my phone quit turning on wifi whenever it feels like it? It is really annoying. I am on stock LG 4.0.
Is there any way to make my phone quit turning on wifi whenever it feels like it? It is really annoying. I am on stock LG 4.0.
Aftermarket ROM is my best guess.
Any specific reason why? I'm just curious. Is it only because of the AOSP look? Also thanks mobrockers2 and FlashFireSix for the replies!
Yeah mostly because of the AOSP look.
Yeah mostly because of the AOSP look.
Do you miss anything from TouchWiz at all?
Do you miss anything from TouchWiz at all?
Hmm I would say power saving and FM radio
Any case recommendations for the S3?
I got this case: http://www.case-mate.co.uk/samsung-cases/samsung-galaxy-s-3-cases/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-tough-cases.html Fits like a glove, it's not that expensive and it's a good mix of a silicone and hard shell case
Case-Mate makes some amazing stuff, that's for sure.
Case-Mate makes some amazing stuff, that's for sure.
I just can say that you better choose a more expensive case as I already dropped my phone once and the Gorilla Glass broke. The repairs are fucking expensive. I paid 160 € to get the glass repaired... Of course that was before I got the case.
I'm really careful with my S2 and I won't treat the S3 any worse, but I'll definitely invest in some protective measures. And yeah, that's Murphy's Law in action. Friends Xperia shattered a day before his case-mate tough arrived.
Are tere any apps for managing/organizing your job or job applications? Something to put in stuff like when I applied to a job, when they god back to me, interviews... Note I dont mean job searching apps

Make a new calendar specifically for that purpose. You can save all the dates and stuff and I think you can even attach documents though i'm not 100% sure on that.

I'm running CM10 stable on my S3. I tried running stock but the look and feel didn't suit me. I really could not notice much of a difference between the CM10 and stock cameras, but since both are bundled with their respective gallery apps I found the one in CM10 to be much more responsive. Customizing toggles is also a huge deal to me, which can't be done with 4.1.1 stock. Lastly, the feeling of having my phone the way I want it is great. My non-technical friends are wowed by my ability to use a flashlight app from the lock screen by just holding menu! As for a case I use an Otterbox Commuter. It's solid and my phone didn't break after dropping it on a hard floor from belly-height.
my wifi still fails with that setting on... like I get home and the wifi doesn't start scanning or connecting until I open the wifi settings.
Guys, any ideas on the fastest way to kill the battery on a phone? I need to do a full discharge cycle for battery calibration in this random app I found, testing a random battery I ordered from DX. GTA3 was fairly good, but it's not enough. I was thinking maybe seeding a torrent for the latest Ubuntu release, through HSDPA, while playing GTA3?
Overclocking sure helps a lot
