Still better than your phone it came with an unlocked bootloader, it was also paper light.
Yea this is a i5801 running android 2.2
I've used iPhones for three years now. I've never really liked them, but I always managed to find them at cheap prices from friends and such. I've now finally had enough of this ridiculously tied down OS, and am going to buy an Android phone.
What I want out of my Android phone is the ability to customize, as I've always loved doing that with pretty much anything. Pricing aside, which phone would you guys say is best for the task? Thanks :)
Okay you guys, you nearly made me regret ordering a Nexus 4, but then I remembered that almost anything is an upgrade from a LG KP500.
So jokes on you, ain't havin' non' o' your guys' bad talk about mah soon to be new phone.
IF IT WOULD FUCKING ARRIVE SOME DAY!
Do you guys think a Galaxy Nexus would be a worthy investment? It's a pretty powerful phone, supported by Google with an official 4.2 OTA and an official MIUI port.
If you get it for a really good deal then sure, I use one and it's awesome.
don't get a galaxy nexus it's outdated, for real
Doesn't feel like it to me, it still feels faster than most stock Android devices that I see on a daily basis.

There really aren't any dealbreaker quirks about the thing, it's just that the camera could be a little better - not that it matters because you can just fix them up with software if you really want. It's still one of the best, if not the best phone out depending on your priorities, and certainly the best choice if stock android means anything to you. All of the bitching is with respect to extremely mundane nitpicking. Let them argue about worthless little things that nobody actually notices and enjoy your top of the line phone and the support it will continue to receive in the years to come.

How much are we talking when you say 'a really good deal'?

It's not worth it unless it's for a good price like $150-200 or something. I can get it brand new for $300, but at that point the way better Nexus 4 is available.

Is going to be replaced in a few months.
At this point I'm really looking at getting either, the Galaxy Nexus is really just a fallback if I can't get a Nexus 4.
Besides, I'll be getting a Nexus 7 from some family fund some time around Easter since hurr assburgers, so I don't need to buy that myself.
the galaxy nexus is still good phone today for its price
Is there any reason why I can't get on google.com from my phone, but can go to every other website?

My N4 doesn't appear to have that "Kill app back button" option. What gives?
the galaxy nexus is still good phone today for its price
Why do people keep saying such vague things. "its price" "a good price". What is that price? It's not the same everywhere guys, and the idea of a good price varies from person to person.
[editline]6th January 2013[/editline]
If you factor in how big the hardware leap is from the Gnex to the N4, and how few major updates even Nexus devices get, it could be said the Galaxy Nexus might only get one more major version of Android. Key Lime Pie or whatever they choose for it. Unless it's very very inexpensive, the Nexus 4 is probably a better bet if it's available.
There's a pretty good consensus on what is and what is not good value
Well what is it for a Galaxy Nexus. If there's such a good consensus it should be pretty easy to state what a good value for it would be. It has to be significantly less than whatever the Nexus 4 costs in a given region.

I think people are really underestimating just how far behind the S3 is going to be if the S4 is going to be competitive with S4 pro chips and Apple's Swift(if it wants to beat them it's going to have to be their own design or something like a quad A15). When a device can be upwards of 600 or 700 dollars there's some wisdom in not investing in a year old device. From what I can infer his current Apple device isn't non functioning, so I'm saying the best advice for buying a high end device is to wait until March.
