you guys think best buy would let me return the note twice as long as its within 14 day return period? first time i got white and my aunt dropped it and chipped a part of it, and so i returned it with the reason being "i wanted the other color" and they exchanged it for a gray one now i want white again what excuse do i give
That colour means more to you than your time
How much are we talking when you say 'a really good deal'?
I've seen them go for $200 on Craigslist, if you can find one for a little over or under that price then it would be a good deal.
It's not worth it unless it's for a good price like $150-200 or something. I can get it brand new for $300, but at that point the way better Nexus 4 is available.
Yes if he can only get it for $300 then it would be better to get the Nexus 4.
Toptenreviews state that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the best Android phone on the market, but I have a hard time believing them. Anybody here who owns one and can recommend it? Should I trust them?
Is going to be replaced in a few months.
Wait for a few months for GSIV, then get GSIII when its prices drop.
Toptenreviews state that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the best Android phone on the market, but I have a hard time believing them. Anybody here who owns one and can recommend it? Should I trust them?
It may have been best at one time (even then that could be debatable). But now, not really. I like my Galaxy Nexus, and its even the VZW LTE one, which is the more problematic one, with delayed updates and weird radio issues. I could recommend the GSM one if you're looking for a cheap (but still decent Android phone). Otherwise, if you have the cash, you might as well look someplace else.

Should I trust them?
Currently have one now on Verizon, free during the holidays with a new contract. It was the best phone Verizon had since I'm waiting for new Motorola phones now that Google owns the company. I love it and would only recommend it if it is the best choice out of your options. Although I will have to wait for Verizon to approve each update, I'm willing to wait for stock android. Runs great for a 2011 phone, but I'll agree that it will probably only receive Key Lime Pie being the age it is.
Toptenreviews state that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the best Android phone on the market, but I have a hard time believing them. Anybody here who owns one and can recommend it? Should I trust them?
That was never true. The only thing it ever held over the SGS II was the display and obviously that it ran stock Android, and now we've got lots of newer phones that are far far ahead.
Alright then, if not the Nexus then what?
Alright then, if not the Nexus then what?
Galaxy S 3 or Galaxy Note (If you want a huge tabletphone)
Alright then, if not the Nexus then what?
The newer Nexus or the S3. The Galaxy Nexus sort of has a successor. The only difficulty is buying it.
Really hope Google gets their shit together with production. It's a really hard wait.
I've been having some issues getting the "Nexus media importer" working my nexus 7. It says that the device doesn't need rooting. What's going on ?
Really hope Google gets their shit together with production. It's a really hard wait.
i keep on thinking, why bother with the wait, why dont just go buy a galaxy nexus? But i dont want to be stuck a generation behind, like i did with the Galaxy S i have. Lets just hope they come in stock within the next few weeks, i need mine before collage starts again
I'm hoping the S4 is tougher than the S3. So many stories of magically broken screens and shit
i keep on thinking, why bother with the wait, why dont just go buy a galaxy nexus? More than likely you'll be able to run practically all the apps the next gen can
Who cares that you're a generation behind? More than likely you'll be able to run practically all the apps the next gen can
i thought that when i got the Galaxy s, now it can hardly run anything I'm best off waiting for the nexus 4, as i know that i won't regret it, whereas i might if i get a galaxy nexus
The Galaxy Nexus is more than one hardware generation behind.
Whats the best alternative SMS application? Coming from MIUI, the stock CyanogenMod SMS is terrible. [editline]6th January 2013[/editline] Also is there any app that gets contact pictures from your facebook and adds them to your contacts? Would save me lots of time.
Does the nexus 7 need to be rooted to use an OTG cable?
Does the nexus 7 need to be rooted to use an OTG cable?
Depends on what you're going to do with it. So, no.
Depends on what you're going to do with it. So, no.
I'm using it with a USB stick.
I'm using it with a USB stick.
Then you do need to be rooted [sub]you should anyways[/sub]
Then you do need to be rooted [sub]you should anyways[/sub]
Well I spent $300 AUD on my nexus 7 so I don't want to mess it up hacked firmware, unless that's not what it is. Forgive my ignorance.
I'm using it with a USB stick.
Last time I checked, that doesn't require root. Root it anyways because why the fuck are you not rooted
Well I spent $300 AUD on my nexus 7 so I don't want to mess it up hacked firmware, unless that's not what it is. Forgive my ignorance.
unlock bootloader, flash CWM, install some kind of SU management application [editline]6th January 2013[/editline]
Last time I checked, that doesn't require root. You could use an app that has the capability of reading USB devices to access a USB stick without root, it goes through the Android API. Mounting a stick does require root AFAIK.
You could use an app that has the capability of reading USB devices to access a USB stick without root, it goes through the Android API. I used USB OTG a lot because I'm a college student doing art + design so when I do photography I need to get the pictures off of the DSLR's, and every single room is never open so I plug it into my phone and copy them across :v:
I need to buy a USB stick, I have none around and my USB HDD doesn't work with my phone, phone doesn't provide enough power apparently, or something. I totally want to try this at some point, maybe when I go back to university next week, there's at least a couple other Android users I know there, and I don't have a second device to test that on.
If you're only using it in a local network, try make use of network drives as much as you can lugging a USB around the house seems a bit tedious imo Different story if you're out and about though
