I'm excited, gonna order the Samsung S3 tonight. For those who have it, I guess it can be rooted easily like S2 or is it a whole other story?
cf-root, just like the s2
cf-root, just like the s2
Awesome! [editline]4th October 2012[/editline] Since the Galaxy Note II is better in pure specs, is there any reason to choose S3 over it?
Depends if you can work with the huge size of the note: Otherwise, depending on price, it might be worth going for the note.
Very nice point. Then I might as well get a tablet if I would go for the note. Another thing is that I would have to wait 1-2 weeks for the Note while S3 gets shipped instantly. Not a very big difference in price for some reason. I think I will go for the S3 like I were going to.
I would only get it if there were an Android port. (Fun fact: Android has already been ported to the iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G, and iPod Touch 1st gen using Bootlace.)
The iPhone 5 would run really slow on Android. The only reason why it is comparitively fast is because iOS is a faster operating system in general. The One X and S3 would run laps around it if it were ever to run Android.

The A6 is very competitive with its CPU performance, and the GPU performance is just outstanding.
So really, Android needs to be fucking optimised already.
It's getting there, slowly. 4.1 already has some optimisations.
I still don't understand why they don't do the Launcher in native code. Its not like its hard to do for google, and it would be much faster.
I guess the flipside is that Android has tons of features iOS doesn't have currently. Google put their programmers to work making new, pretty usable things. Apple put their programmers to work refining and trimming code as much as possible. (probably why you didn't see much new content in iOS 6) And Microsoft... well they just make interfaces out of these new things they call squares. :v:

All those animations run perfectly on 256MB of RAM, and an 800MHz Snapdragon with an Adreno 200.
Yes, but it has no customisation, interface, apps etc
Maybe thats gonna change, because it would be more appealing for APP devs, to create Software wich is compatible on Windows8, Windows8 RT, and WP8 at the same time. [editline]4th October 2012[/editline] Or maybe its gonna suck big time.
if I use a proxy to enable that google cloud music thingy for me (outside of US), can that by Googles terms result in my complete google account being banned?
Well OTA updates suck, I have to re root my phone. :/
Looking at Windows Phone 7, shit it's super smooth...
swiftkey
swiftkey is the best
I find the stock JB keyboard to be just perfect.
if I use a proxy to enable that google cloud music thingy for me (outside of US), can that by Googles terms result in my complete google account being banned?
Nope. I did it over a year ago and it's still working well.
i'm stuck in fastboot to get out i need to flash a recovery but i can't because the battery is too low i can't charge it because i need to flash a recovery a++
i'm stuck in fastboot to get out i need to flash a recovery but i can't because the battery is too low i can't charge it because i need to flash a recovery a++
Plugging it in doesn't charge it?
it charges while off except that it never stays off and boots into the bootloader every time so i had to run a script that would reboot it
it charges while off except that it never stays off and boots into the bootloader every time so i had to run a script that would reboot it
Weird that it doesn't charge in fastboot. I could swear my Nexus S did.
always be on a full battery before doing flashing thingies
but it's an htc i can blink and lose 2% of battery
Weird that it doesn't charge in fastboot. I could swear my Nexus S did.
well, nexus s is a nexus after getting my nexus 7, and how easy flashing anything on it, i'll never buy not-nexus androids ever again.
but it's an htc i can blink and lose 2% of battery
Damn HTC. I love their hardware; their DACs, their screens... but my goodness, the battery life :(
The one x completely dies when the battery goes it's stupid. ie. The battery led doesn't even come on when plugged in until a certain charge. Abysmal execution.
I never really liked the look of HTC phones, I think Samsung has always had better looking ones. Now comparing the iPhone 4 and 5, the 4 looks much nicer than 5. Admittedly the 4 is more fragile, but I really don't like the 5's two-tone back. Its elongated shape is also a bit strange even though I'm used to seeing 16:9 phones. I also don't particularly like the look of the new Xperia T, I think the placement of the buttons and the shape of the back is weird. Now with the next Nexus phone, I'd love it if it had the same textured back as the N7. It feels really nice to hold.
I never really liked the look of HTC phones
I really like the simple look of the HTC Vivid. But I do think the One series is kind of ugly.
