official jelly bean for one x is actually kinda okay
My ICS keyboard is just like the one in GB for my ROM. I'll give an JB keyboard a try.
okay, so today my phone actually worked well (except for a fuck-up i caused myself) guys i think it'll explode tomorrow
official jelly bean for one x is actually kinda okay
I want official JB for the Vivid
I never really liked the look of HTC phones, I think Samsung has always had better looking ones. Now comparing the iPhone 4 and 5, the 4 looks much nicer than 5. Admittedly the 4 is more fragile, but I really don't like the 5's two-tone back. Its elongated shape is also a bit strange even though I'm used to seeing 16:9 phones. I also don't particularly like the look of the new Xperia T, I think the placement of the buttons and the shape of the back is weird. Now with the next Nexus phone, I'd love it if it had the same textured back as the N7. It feels really nice to hold.
The feeling of the curved back on the Xperia T should be like the Xperia arc, it feels pretty nice in hand though if the back wasn't slippery it would be grippier. Also look at this marketing budget,

And it would be great if manufacturers would start moving all their phones to the Nexus style ("Presumably, you'll be able to go between stock Android and a custom overlay if you so choose.") The only way I could see this being bad is if it means no longer getting instant OTA updates. EDIT: and even the Galaxy Nexus didn't get an instant update on Verizon

Considering the fees for shooting movies in czech streets, their budget had to be giant already, not counting the boat and Aston Martin. Best case scenario, a Nexus certification would push manufacturers of non-Nexus phones to release updates much quicker, too. (And thus not break things so much, but include a smooth overlay on top of stock Android, without anchoring it in so drastically which ends up in breaking things.) * I think one month would be an acceptable waiting time if each phone will have different hardware. Definitely better than a year (I'm looking at you, LG).
That's because the Verizon version has the update-by-carrier (toro?) version of Android instead of the update-by-google (yakju?) version. Speaking of which, garynohome, with the gnex 4.1 update in Canada, is there a chance that they became the Google version?
Decided to go with the White Note II!

Why? Apple was able to roll out updates to all capable iOS devices on the entire planet in less than two days, and Google would easily be able to set up the servers for distribution that they had. If the Nexus devices are what Nexus devices should be, there shouldn't need to be any large delays because Google makes the firmware and sends it directly. This assumes we don't get a repeat of the horrible failure that is the Canadian/Verizon Galaxy Nexus devices.
Sony commercials are always really good commercials.
Too bad Sony doesn't get any love, Samsung/Apple has a big fanboy base these days.
It's because their software support is pure horseshit. That, and the fact that Samsung/Apple/HTC, etc make vastly superior phones.
Amazing what a well written OS can do :v:
Lol scratch that, the 3G didn't work on the phone Back to the half-screen HTC desire z.
Sony isn't what it was these days. The older Sony Ericsson feature phones were the shit. (Especially when you could flash the firmware of a Walkman phone onto your non-Walkman phone :v:)
I remember the days of sony ericssons at school it was a competition to see had the most hilarious ringtone, I remember my "who ate all the pies, burgers and the fries, YOU FAT BASTARD YOU FAT BASTARD YOU ATE ALL THE PIES" going off in the middle of French class And that brilliant high pitched one that you could hear across the school pretty much, it sounded like a siren and pissed all the teacher off, good times
I need advice here please Ok so I have an xperia play unrooted, all stock. It's great but I hate all this shit that came with it and I'm stuck with android 2.3.4 so I wanted to flash. The first thing I looked at was cyanogen mod 10 with jelly beans, but for the xperia play it's not stable so I decided to skip it. Then cyanogen mod 9 with ICS, this would be great and it looks like there's lots of support for this but there are issues with it which haven't been fixed in a while apparently, the gamepad(main reason why I like this phone) doesn't work, camera is bugged, video is bugged and the dial app takes a lot of time to load. So I searched for alternatives and found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1854682 It seems promising, however I've read that it runs slower than stock 2.3.4 on the xperia play(not sure about this, can't say for myself, haven't tried) I can live with 2.3.4, I can root and get rid of the shit apps, but I would like ICS so much more, it has lots of improvements. Hell I can't even get chrome because 2.3.4 is too old. I haven't tried anything yet so I can't confirm any of this, but I'm generally scared of rooting and flashing my phone I guess, what if it sucks, or if it gets my phone bricked or something? pfft It would've been awesome if sony continued the official ICS update: too bad they canceled it. So what should I do?

I actually love the look of my One V. The chin just adds a nice spot for it to rest, a nice grip to grab it out of your pocket and much more. Durable too, thing landed on it's corner today and not a scratch on it. Anyone know how to work this bluetooth wi-fi tethering from phone to phone?
Sony Mobile, which is what it is now, is better because they at least rolled out ICS for all 2011 phones but they still release some phones with GB, even today. The recent Xperia ion comes with GB. Come on Sony. But then again Sony is nice for developers provided nice options such as actual provided tools and guides to unlock bootloaders and root. Hello they even have an official AOSP device. A major developer for the S3 quit the Exyo version because Samsung wasn't giving shit for CM10 support. He went for the Xperia T, which isn't a bad phone but it's still at the last gen 1.5GHz with 1GB of RAM. Sony is slowly ditching the proprietary bullshit they slap onto the phones, my phone can only use Sony made headsets with mic and button control. The ones released now work with any phone. Even Samsung made it non-proprietary. The phone app, the calendar, the messaging, a lot of that is their own skinned version which sucks so I recently ditched the stock calendar and got myself the Jelly Bean version. Overall, Sony has been getting their shit together for a whole now and I can only see them getting better.
Ion had ICS for 2 weeks+ already, the problem with the slow updates was because of AT&T. Rooted in less than a minute too. [editline]4th October 2012[/editline] They are getting faster, it's just that the US market gets the slowest updates. The Xperia T is also using the new krait not the last gen if I remember correctly.

Also the Xperia play from 2011 doesn't officially have an ICS update, it's a beta only usable on unlocked devices. The Arc S won't get Jellybean despite being perfectly capable of it, I'd imagine it's because they probably sold almost none of them.
It's a slightly better different story at Rogers. Samsung still takes most of the sales but at least they advertise and carry Sony. But I still agree with the crap that happened with the Xperia Play.
Well, looks like tomorrow I'm spending a stupid amount of time flashing my One X to JB because HTC are awful because S-ON.
It's a slightly better different story at Rogers. Samsung still takes most of the sales but at least they advertise and carry Sony. HTC doesn't have the negotiation power to get as much money for devices as Samsung, and obviously not as much as Apple where carriers pay the full $699 per phone.
okay, so today my phone actually worked well (except for a fuck-up i caused myself) guys i think it'll explode tomorrow
Proverbial calm before the storm.
I never really liked the look of HTC phones, I think Samsung has always had better looking ones.
Samsung's GS1 was just too busy in terms of design. The GS2 was okay but the design was basically a 3GS/4 esque design done in plastic. The GS3 is just kind of meh. The design doesn't really blow me away. HTC's Sensation was kind of a nice swooping design but slightly busy, but the One X and One S were probably the best looking Android devices sold this year.
I like the way motorola are going with carbon fiber/kevlar back plates. Take note samsung, your phones feel pretty cheap.
I like the way motorola are going with carbon fiber/kevlar back plates. Average people don't even know what they're missing, and the xda types just want to have the best benchmarks.
