Well at least design wise, I think the One X Beats the S3. edit: Oh, good, so the screen suction lock is not just a problem of local stores being stupid, it's international. Not that it makes it any better, but I feel better that it's not a stupidity exclusive to my country.
What do you mean screen suction lock? We don't have those here, the phones are just tethered from the back and you can just hold the cord in one hand and the phone in the other to give slack so it doesn't affect how the phone feels to a large extent. [editline]6th October 2012[/editline] Well if garychencool knows about it maybe we do have em here. I've NEVER seen one though.
I work at a Bell store, and across the parking lot is a Rogers store. Most of the people there are incompetent as hell, and a friend of mine who wanted to try the Galaxy S II actually asked me to walk over there because none of the reps knew how to get into recovery
The rep that handled my phone for repair was stupid. The phone was sent back to a different store location instead of the one nearby so in order to get it I had to go all the way across Toronto to get it. Apparently she originally worked at the far away store and switched with someone to the store near me. So the phone was under her account which was sent to the far away store. The third and final time I sent my phone in, she only called me once telling me that my phones back. ONCE, to my cell phone number. No calling home phone like the first time which was handled by someone else. I could have gotten my phone back 5 days earlier than I did. So as of now I officially hate that Rogers store (it's one of those third party authorized dealers hosting only Rogers for the Chinese, you can find it easily) and the rep that handled it.

Here's my Picasso level drawing of the lock: But nowadays I see them less and less, now they're just using some special usb cable or something. When the GNex was released, they were everywhere. Same with the Note. edit: The first time I got my hands on a GNex was in a store where a guy was cool enough to unpack a brand new one just so I could play with it.

It's gonna be awesome to play any drawing games when I get my Note II. Ugh, Friday!
To be fair, my phone was defective in the first place. And for the record it took me 10 months to root. Today I'm on Sony Stock ICS 4.0.4. With root. I'm still waiting for stable CM10. Also I only did that once because I got bored.
Interesting, I'm new to android and this thread in general, and it only took me about two month's to root
Fuck. Anyways I believe it has been a full year since I've made my way into FP's Android thread and probably made myself as popular as that hedgehog with his tabs but only exclusive to the Android thread. One year, yay. I've posted about my phone a whole lot and it became a really annoying yet funny and cliche thing for this thread. Shit, I'm bad at explaining myself on this. Let iCole or whoever to fill you in.
Lets not misuse the word popular, ey
hipster alert
Fuck Instagram.
Interesting, I'm new to android and this thread in general, and it only took me about two month's to root
I were new to Android and this thread when I bought my first Android phone Samsung S2. I rooted it directly.
But how are you gonna put a shitty filter on the photo with that???

either I'm blind or there's nothing on the screen in your photo. They put the stupid thing on the screen so you can't even use the phone. [editline]6th October 2012[/editline] THIS But ON the touchscreen (in the place of the red circle here), not above it.
Lets not misuse the word popular, ey
I mean well known on thus thread due to annoyance.
It's supposed to go underneath the device, wtf kind of idiots work there >.>
Yeah, but couldn't you then just steal the phone by removing the battery cover? I think that's what they were trying to prevent.
Lets not understate annoyance, ey Anyway, had a go on a nexus 7 today, it was reaaaaallllly smooth, twas awesome
Yeah, but couldn't you then just steal the phone by removing the battery cover? I think that's what they were trying to prevent.
You mean someone won't notice if you try to take off the cover of a phone in the middle of a store.
could be a big store
Exactly what Jimbojib said. These locks were mostly in large electronics stores and some people are going to try to steal anything, no matter how open/visible the place is. And at times they'll even succeed.
Welp, finally got my One X together with the latest JB update. It feel like what the ICS should have been like, it's still a leak so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

Last night my Galaxy Nexus decided it didn't want to recieve text messages or phone calls. Dialing a number would result is silence... When a friend picked me up, by the time we got to the end of the street my phone decided it wanted to get text messages again and exploded with ten messages. Either it was connected to a faulty tower or it wanted to use my Wifi for everything. Just in case, I upgraded the old nightly of CM10 that I installed when I got the phone about a month ago and everything seems to work, though I'm at my mom's so I can't confirm if it has a boner for my Wifi at my dad's.
I think it's probably your actual mobile connection, it happens at times
