HTC makes me think of broken devices and poor customer support...
This is pretty much my experience with HTC :v:
I hope ASUS makes a Nexus phone, overall superb build quality/amazing hardware on most of their Android devices
Fuck.

What about software? ~50% of TF101 users have their device crippled for various reasons if they move off of Honeycomb. The app switching on the padphone barely worked for any apps, not even for all the included ones. As for hardware, ASUS was seemingly unaware that GPS signals don't work very well going through aluminum. ASUS is very meh from what I've seen, the only product of theirs I would buy would be the Nexus 7 because the TF700T is overpriced for the internals and screen that you get.

And that GPS Extension Kit was so laughably stupid. I mean it's good that they tried to fix the issue for people who already bought the tablets, but it still ended terrible.
I finally ordered that micro-usb to usb to I can use mouse/keyboard/controller on my Note II.
Sony Nexus, for the love of fuck let it happen!
I dunno, if it's gonna look like the Xperia S.. I'd rather not see that happening. Weird brick with a useless transparent bar.
HW wise, sure.
Am i the only one excited over the prospect of a Moto RAZR Nexus? Sure their update schedules are shit, but my Maxx is so great. I actually prefer it to the S3.
Phone juddered to a halt today, completely froze everything randomly and none of the hardware buttons worked
that and I couldn't text because the screen would think I was tapping it and keep opening random menus so I never finished typing
The only reason I actually can use the phone is the physical keyboard, the touchscreen is too buggered to use the on screen one, god I really want a galaxy note (the first one, I don't need the latest note, plus it'll be cheaper to get the first one)

Sounds like ICS on the Maxx. What's your handset?

HTC Desire Z Running 2.3.3
It's just planned obsolescence I swear, a year after I got it, it begins to fuck up majorely, and the same happened with my GF's HTC Desire, 1 year later, the motherboard breaks

Sony know how to use plastic properly, it isn't some malformed glossy scratch-magnet tumour like Samsung phones.
The second one looks sort of weird with the display popping out like that. The first one is cool, but design wise I still think HTC One X (at least from the front side) is the best looking Android of 2012.

Do you mean 2.2.2? If 3.2.2 exists it would be an incremental upgrade of honeycomb.
I just don't like the way Sony skins Android. Don't ask me why, but it looks so un appealing.

Crap, I mean 2.3.3, slip of the hand
The second one would make a good QWERTY slider :V
2 things that'll never happen in a Nexus phone:
Hardware keyboard
MicroSD slots
This is not directed at you, but I wish people would finally realize that these two are not going to happen, instead of bitching about it everywhere all the time.

I love hardware keyboards but I can understand new phones not having one, seeing as thin/light and solid is a good design for most android phones now
but DAMN Hardware keyboards are good, I can literally just walk around with my phone in my hands writing out a text while looking where I go/talking to other people all because I can just touch type on my desire Z's physical keyboard

Supposedly there's going to be a 64gig rule for Nexus, so the SD slot shouldn't be much of an issue, unless you back up to one (like I do.)
[editline]time[/editline]
IF that's true.

I WANT TO BELIEVE.
I'll fucking take money from a loan shark or whatever to get a Nexus on day one if that's true.
Most of the Nexus news you've heard is actually a hoax. The original source admitted that it was made up. Don't believe anything until November.
I see one problem with this whole Nexus certification thing...
Nexus has no mindshare, the only nexus device that was ever even slightly advertised was the N7.
I've heard a lot of Gnex hype, but my friends are all techies. The manufacturers definitely need some kind of good marketing tagline for nexus phones.
I see one problem with this whole Nexus certification thing...

Agreed, Google should really step up with this. They had a pretty N7 ad on google.com for US users, and a few youtube videos, but that's about it. They should really launch campaigns similar to what they're doing with the Chrome browser for example (hell, even over here there's posters for it. And that's something.)
Someone might say that since Nexus devices were intended as developer devices at first, they didn't need the popularity since the target customer base found the phones on their own, but with the launch of N7, they're sort of changing this mindset of "developer devices" to "consumer devices with stock Android experience", and that should be advertised, especially if the Nexus certification system is real.
They could always advertise with the "Don't buy a shit knockoff slathered in bloat, buy Nexus" But I bet OEM's wouldn't be too pleased with that.
Encourage OEMs to advertise it themselves.
do you guys prefer jb or ics?
They could always advertise with the "Don't buy a shit knockoff slathered in bloat, buy Nexus" But I bet OEM's wouldn't be too pleased with that.
Well obviously they'd need to be more subtle about it. Something like "Enjoy a simple streamlined phone. Nexus"... IDK I'm not in marketing
They could always advertise with the "Don't buy a shit knockoff slathered in bloat, buy Nexus" But I bet OEM's wouldn't be too pleased with that.
Bloat is one thing, but the custom UIs are becoming pretty decent. TouchWiz Nature on the S3 is a fine example. While people might not like the graphical selection of icons or the whole Nature~~ look, the UI is done pretty damn well.
Even Sense 4.1 is better, although that still has room for improvement.
although Sony's TimeScape still looks rather the same from gingerbread days, the experience on it is also very fluid and they're slowly packing new and new features into every version.
Edit: actually TimeScape has a variety of very useful things, like the popup widget shortcuts in the multitasking window. That's pretty awesome: http://youtu.be/O2cioPmqQSY?hd=1&t=5m
do you guys prefer jb or ics?
I'm on a Maxx, so I haven't experienced JB, but from what I've seen, JB is clearly superior if for no other reason than Project Butter.
do you guys prefer jb or ics?
jailbai-oh.
JB rocks, to put it simply. Especially thanks to the speed improvements.
