The pins barely saw any action at all. Seems like a wasted opportunity. But I guess that now that the LG Nexus will have wireless charging, they would be obsolete anyway.
I wish there were third party docks for the Galaxy Nexus. I wanted to use the pogo pins, though the official dock is way too expensive.
The official dock for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus doesn't even have the pogo pins. What a joke. I've heard you can use the GSM one, but it needs to be slightly modified.
The entire Verizon Galaxy Nexus is a joke (just look at the updates), not just the dock. Doesn't even deserve the name "Nexus".

It would have been used more if the pins themselves weren't so limited. There aren't even enough pins to do HDMI output.

Oh and that's not a huge issue on the Galaxy Nexus that has MHL support, but on the Nexus 7 that doesn't it would have been appreciated.

AAAAAAAAAA, Take all my money Sony!
At first I was like, FUCK YEAH! But then I looked at the photos more and it's clearly photoshopped, enough to convince some but not enough to make be believe.
Hell, their Xperia T just came out recently (which is the current high end Xperia) and I don't see Sony making a Nexus this year...
At least the Xperia T is properly opensourced (CM10 is already fully working on it with very minor bugs in like 2-3 weeks after release), so that could be a decent substitute for a Sony Nexus.

The Xperia T looks really nice and such, I would either get that or the S3.
It seems neat indeed, but it's a dualcore, and I already have one, so I don't really have a reason to upgrade to that. You on the other hand should get it. Now. :v:
A good quadcore, properly opensourced (or Nexus), great camera (8+ MPx not being crippled by SW), great battery life (or at least better than S2), NFC, 32GB internal storage. Do I want too much from a phone?

microSD slot, you missed that.
Xperia T: 16GB is already a lot for system, + my 32GB microSD card I use for music, game files, photos, videos, movies, anime, tv shows and shit
13MP camera (MP isn't everything, I know), 1080p video recording
I feel like everyone but Samsung and HTC are milking the dual core's as they are probably better for battery life and maybe some other technical stuff I don't know about yet.
microSD slot, you missed that.
I wouldn't need one if there's 32GB internal storage.

If you want great battery life, don't want a quad core. A better dual core will surpass an A9 quad in real world performance, and if anything A9 quads are just stepping stones for companies that haven't finished dual A15 chips. The next thing on Samsung's roadmap is an A15 dual.
I wouldn't need one if there's 32GB internal storage.
TBH, I think 32GB internal only would probably be enough for me instead of my proposed 64GB internal + 64GB microSD = 128GB total the more I use my phone and the more I think about it. My 32GB microSD card right now is like 70 percent full and 40 percent of it is anime I haven't even watched yet. I sometimes stream on CR and I usually clear my card often of photos and stuff.
So like yeah, I no longer feel the need for more that 32GB but with games and media becoming larger and larger every year, I wouldn't mind picking up a 64GB model or slap on my microSD card on it. But it's probably safer to use a microSD card just in case something happens with the Internal storage partition and I can still recover.
It's just that I want to justify switching from a Galaxy S2 (fed up waiting for updates or bugless CM10), but it's already a dualcore, and buying another dualcore just doesn't seem ok to my brain.
Plus, the current quadcores (S3/One X) probably have noticably better battery life than a Galaxy S2, and that would be enough for me.

Yes those Snapdragon S4s are typically better for battery life, and better for most performance on the phones as well. Apps that users are running aren't really taking advantage of quad core CPUs, so faster dual cores are honestly the better way to go for real world performance. Everyone with a quad can enjoy better scores in Linpack multithreaded tests, but there's not much there in terms of real world increases over an A15(ish) dual core.
buying a new phone is not ok in my brain
because the s2 is just still that good

I can kind of understand that. But if you owned an Intel Core 2 Duo in your home PC I handed you a Phenom II X4 955 and an Intel i3-3225 would you pick the AMD because you didn't want to buy another dual core? You might, you might not. Just something to think about.

It's like me upgrading to another single core phone with 512MB of RAM. Sure it's probably better and larger but it doesn't seem like much of an upgrade.
buying a new phone is not ok in my brain

S2 is great phone, still pretty high end today, only like a year and a half old. That processor is faster than the dual core snapdragons but the documentation is lacking so not so much dev support for ROMs and such.
buying a new phone is not ok in my brain

It is good, but Samsung is effectively crippling it taking long with updates and not documenting the Exynos platform. Plus if I sell it this year (+ the accessories), I could still get some decent dosh for it and put that towards the new phone.

Following up on that comparison analogy, if you gave iCole an AMD, he would have to get completely new motherboard to support AMD's chipset. Just saying.
Edit: If you mean completely new computers, then the follow up doesn't apply.

That comparison would work for me if I didn't get completely lost in the PC hardware somewhere back in 2008 :suicide:
gary, get out of my automerge. out. now.

In gaming news, Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour came out with a new dev diary

And Bard's Tale is now only $2.99!

I did some Googling about a month ago and found this: http://www.galaxynexusforum.com/forum/galaxy-nexus-accessories/5613-electrical-adventures-my-i515-nexus.html#post99383
Turns out it's not so simple, though it's at least possible.
EDIT: This thread is also pretty useful: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26195742#post26195742
So I just found out that facebook has decided to sync your photo galleries to your phone with no option to turn it off in the settings (you can turn the sync off in sync settings), and let android take care of the downloading, which means that the data usage is added to 'android os', which means that I didn't know where the genormous increase in data usage came from. God fucking damnit facebook, why the fuck would you turn this on by default... ~500/1000MB on my contract gone fucks sake.
And yet the Facebook app refuses to sync up to date contact pictures for me.
Yet another good reason to abandon the official app and use Friendcaster instead.
I think I may get the upcoming LG Nexus.
I've seen a few sites report that it's most certainly called the Nexus 4.
I'll be buying it outright. I don't text/call enough to bother with a contract.

Is it just me or is anyone else kind of iffy on LG making a Nexus device? I know that Google will be providing the updates directly but I've never had good experiences with LG smartphones.
Wow, it's hard to find a free/decent Python IDE for Android... I want to dev some stuff when I get bored and don't have a computer to use...
A lot of the apps are just syntax highlighing and basic editing and that's it. I want something like Wing IDE or something...
