anti virus on a phone? lol [editline]19th October 2012[/editline] unless youre really playing it unsafe and download whatever and put it on your phone, then yea, i can see why you would have an anti virus on your phone otherwise, no
Avast mobile is basically just anti malware, not anti virus. Android can't really get true viruses the way it's sandboxed, but it's possible to get malware that uses push notifications to serve ads. [editline]18th October 2012[/editline]
Isn't SmartStay Ex essentially a more advanced (settings wise) version of SmartStay on S3? I use it and it work flawlessly unless I'm in a really dark room. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.beansoft.eyespy.free
It works pretty well once you get used to the field of view of your front camera. The only flaw is that I can't hold my phone too close to my face.
theres simple apps specifically made for just that, to just inform you what apps are causing the ads and asks you to remove them
swype just got an update and I have to say, the difference is amazing. it's so snappy and fast now, incredible.
Well shit, they don't ship these headphones to Norway... :( http://www.amazon.co.uk/Headphone-Handsfree-EHS44ASSBE-GH59-10443B-Samsung/dp/B005FUSQP6/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1347885418&sr=1-1
I wish I could get those in Canada, sammy headphones are great. All the other headphones I've tried seem so heavy on the bass its like I'm listening to an HTC phone.
I have 3 pair of those and the white I got with my Note II which has volume buttons. Yay.

They seem a little fishy but there's not much to lose at that price. I'll report back when I've tried them. If there's any left in stock and I find them to be good/decent I might help a brother out, if you know what I mean.
Look what I got :) "Sir Knightly Bild" Kinda looks like me (seriously). [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/eSMq4.jpg[/thumb]
True. But it makes me giggle because there is a little eye checking if you're there. If you go away the screen shuts off. There is also something called Smart Rotation that works the same way, it reads your face to see if it should rotate to landscape or not.
Oh well holy shit, I only knew about smart stay.
Stock calendar for everyone!
Yay! I can finally use the stock instead of Sony or Business Calendar! It is so Dan good but it needs some functionality as seen in business calender
I made the FPAndroid app able to browse without logging in: [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/4093439/2012-10-18%2022.26.29.png[/t]
I just tried the headphones in my Galaxy Nexus box, I didn't bother since I already had a pair of Meelectronics SP51Ps. They're not awful, though I won't be getting rid of my current pair any time soon.
Am I the only person in the world who actually likes the menu button?
If I could make the menu button on my phone as the switch app button,I would use it all the time. But I still like the menu button in general as not all apps work or is updated for that.
I don't understand why the hell software buttons are a good idea, they just waste screen space that could be used for something else, having the menu and back (touch) buttons slightly under the screen like the S2 and S3 is the most logical conclusion imo
I agree, it's a pain in the ass with typing because I would always tap the home button instead of the space bar and such but then again it's easier top press than all the way in the bottom of the phone [editline]18th October 2012[/editline]
This is a problem I've run into when using the Galaxy Nexus. If an app isn't cooperating and the OS doesn't want to cooperate either the home button will refuse to work and I just end up pulling the battery because rebooting the phone will be faster than waiting to see if the phone starts responding again. It doesn't occur much, but it's still a problem. [editline]18th October 2012[/editline] Also this could probably happen with softkeys and the home button on the Galaxy S phones too, but I'm not sure since the home software button to me has always been a way to just get back to the launcher when an app won't respond. I've never really encountered a time where the home button didn't work on my S or S II.
Good luck pulling that battery out of you're using a phone without a removable battery. One of the many reasons why a removable battery is almost needed for any of mine and probably a lot of you guys.
If you hold the power button on an android device for long enough I'm pretty sure they power off no matter what. [editline]19th October 2012[/editline] Oh wait it's power+voldown

[editline]19th October 2012[/editline] Oh wait it's power+voldown
Power + volume down is download mode Holding power for ~10 seconds usually shuts the device down no matter what
Isn't power+ volume down the take a screeshot button?
Depends on the phone. Mine used to be Home+Power (similar to how iThings do it). I upgraded to ICS (finally) and that stopped working. I've since been told that it's supposed to be power + one of the volume keys but neither of those work either. I eventually gave up and started using AirDroid to take screenshots, though recently that's stopped as well.
hold it for a bit
Still a big nope. In fact last time I brought this up everyone in the thread suggested a ton of different things. None of them worked. I probably have to flash a custom ROM to be able to take screenshots through Android again but I don't want to do that until my warranty goes out.
so i finally get my nexus 7 turn it on to be greeted by two dead pixels. fuCK
I think I have a dead pixel on my Thrive. But really, I can't even tell. The pixels are so small I'd have to use a magnifying glass to find it.
Anyone else's S2 running on CM9 not able to use their camera? Mine isn't responding to anything.
Anyone else's S2 running on CM9 not able to use their camera? Mine isn't responding to anything.
It's not responding to any kind of input? Mine works fine, I'll check later when I have a break in class. [editline]19th October 2012[/editline]
I wish I could get those in Canada, sammy headphones are great.
Anyone else's S2 running on CM9 not able to use their camera? Mine isn't responding to anything.
Have you tried clearing app data for the camera? (It won't delete your photos, just settings of the camera and there's only a few anyway so it's easy to set them up again).
Nothing but a black screen and eventually "Camera has stopped responding, would you like to close it?" prompt. Issues continue after I wipe app data and cache. I've gone through several camera apps and they all exhibit the same behaviour. This feels like a continuation from when I was on Paranoid Android and had to clear app data after every photo otherwise it wouldn't save. But that shouldn't have carried through past a full factory reset when I installed CM9 stable.
Awww yeah.
So went back to the shop to get a replacement nexus 7 and they said they couldn't give me a replacement because I had opened it etc. All I had done was open it and add my gmail and outlook before I noticed the issue. After half an hour of being pissed off they finally offered me a refund or replacement so I took the refund then went to another store opposite and bought it for the same price. All working perfectly now very happy with this. But never use Comet in the UK, awful shop.

I know it would in Canada, and our consumer protection laws aren't up to snuff with the UK.

Ah well its done and the nexus 7 is the fastest android device I've used.
Awww yeah.
I thought SD cards were maximum 32GB? :O
I thought SD cards were maximum 32GB? :O
No there are 128GB SDXC cards for the full SD format and I think the Micro SD format still maxes out at 64GB.
