This doesn't really bother me and 0.2 of a second isn't enough for me to actually consider calling the entire phone bad. When I say smooth, I mean it seems to flow fairly quickly. I'd never even noticed that delay until you pointed it out, which means you must have done some serious scrutinising and while I appreciate that, personally I'm not really that concerned about such a minor delay whereas with my wildfire I would call somebody by accident, I'd have to connect to the other person before I could hang up, It's a huge difference.
Nothing in the launcher is 60fps either but that's more due to Sense than it is Android. I can safely say that the Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy S III are USUALLY 60fps in the launcher, although that never seems to extends to any apps. Dunno if that's just coincidentally every Android app developer being bad or some sort of limitation of the new "butter" improvements.
After much testing etc. I can say my S3 running on the latest JB leak is perfectly smooth in launcher, settings and jelly bean apps (bar the play store). Browser is pretty good too. [editline]18th September 2012[/editline] But then you use "old" apps and it shows.

The only real issue is the one I described with the UI thread getting blocked when it loads more apps in the lists.
If you like the looks of iOS, then you'll most likely love it. For everyone else it can be a hit-&-miss thing.
Yeah, gave it a go. Didn't seem right for me. The one thing I did like was the notification drawer and how it was laid out. Might see if I could add that into CM9

does anyone have any experience with a Desire HD
does anyone have any experience with a Desire HD
Not me, but I hear most HTC devices work similarly.
Not me, but I hear most HTC devices work similarly.
need help reverting one to stock.

One part I could really relate to.
No Two Icons Are The Same Size
This pisses me off so much. It's such a failure of good design conventions. Putting apps on homescreens looks so much messier than tiles on WP or icons on iOS. Make them the same size! Luckily they've got the genius behind webOS there and as an owner of the original Palm Pre I know how much that guy loves polish in his products. He'll keep working until it's perfect. The problem? Nobody except the owners of two phones ever gets to see any of his polish.
need help reverting one to stock.
Let's see if this works: Turn off your phone completely, and then turn it back on while holing the volume down key (if there is one) then tell us what you see.

Its like you press back expecting it to go someplace, and then all of a sudden....it doesn't go where you think it will. Its pretty jarring. Then you have to abandon your train of thought to figure out how to get to where you wanted to go in the first place. I had that problem on my Eris running 2.1 where it was a BIG deal, because that often meant your app got closed because you ran out of RAM loading the launcher which you didn't want in the first place :suicide:, and its still a problem on my Nexus. At least now its more an annoyance. There really needs to be a certain defined behavior, rather than it varying from app to app based on what the dev chooses.
does anyone have any experience with a Desire HD
Hi. Just run an RUU if you're S-OFF, if you need to be S-ON then just do the command fastboot oem lock in fastboot once you finish running the RUU. [editline]18th September 2012[/editline] Also, Google should seriously just require all apps to have a specific icon size, or just not be placed on the market. Just have a system implemented that tests "installing" the app, and if the icon it produces isn't the right size, the app is kicked off the market or something.

Malware checks, design consistency checks, performance checks, etc.
Google needs more market moderation in general. Malware checks, design consistency checks, performance checks, etc.
True, but I honestly don't think they even care that much, they just want as many people to develop for Android.
They should create a standard at least, then start randomly checking up on people. Anyone got a good/bad opinion about the new Sony Xperia Tablet S? http://www.phonearena.com/phones/Sony-Xperia-Tablet-S_id7461

[editline]18th September 2012[/editline] Oh, and I would love it if there was an Android port project to C/C++, and just retain Dalvik VM for everything else.

Someone should just write it in assembly just for a laugh.

it probably could run crysis in qemu, just very painfully slowly
Decided on getting a Galaxy S3 on a contract with Three (Unlimited internet hell yeah). Dunno if it's just because of bias with forum posts etc, but the S3 seems to be quite fragile. Thinking about getting phone insurance on it. Dunno about getting one that just covers accidental damage or one that covers loss and theft too. If I just get one that covers damage, I guess SquareTrade is the way to go? And what about phone cases, which offers the best protection without it looking like a damn tank?

I just have a pouch for mine as I've never been a fan of cases. Also if I were you I'd flash an unbranded UK Stock ROM so then you don't have to wait for Three's updates. Which kernel should I use for my SGSII? And does it have a lot to say which one I use?
Which kernel should I use for my SGSII? And does it have a lot to say which one I use?
SiyahKernel erryday
SiyahKernel erryday
Would you mine posting a link to which version of SiyahKernel I should use? I tried and it gave me a headache...
I'm using MIUI v4, no problems except the option to set my number in Caller ID settings isn't there. Is there another way to change it from 'unknown'? Here's what I'm on about if anyones confused, caller ID settings is where it normally is: Also woo uncensored IMEI :toot:
It only has an 8GB internal storage, 4GB where you can actually use it to store music and photos and such. Unless you are certain that 4GB is enough for you, then go ahead. If not, consider getting a phone with larger storage and/or a microSD card slot. If you take a bunch of photos and videos, play games and listen to lots of music, this phone might not be right for you due to lack of storage.
Yeah, I thought about buying Max Payne and Gta 3 counting up to atleast 2.33 GB. As far as music I have about 1.8 GB maybe so this might become a problem. As far as Videos and photos I usually just transfer them over to my PC after capturing them.
In regards to that problem I had with the being unable to slide/face unlock/non unlocking, I fixed it my clearing the credentials.

[editline]19th September 2012[/editline] Also, in other news, apparently HTC's WP8 devices will basically be Microsoft's reference design, because they're called the Windows Phone 8X/8S by HTC. I thought Nokia and Microsoft were butt buddies but I guess not.
