Why does Bacon Reader have ads now? I've bought it.
The devs messed something up, they say they fixed it and are rolling out an update whenever Google Play accepts it. Obligatory "use AdAway if you are rooted."
Why does Bacon Reader have ads now? I've bought it.
because bacon reader is a piece of shit ever since it was bought out by OneLouder

Don't tempt fate fairy. And Swype is amazing on the Nexus 7, runs smooth like a baby's skin!
Don't tempt fate fairy. And Swype is amazing on the Nexus 7, runs smooth like a baby's skin!
I don't understand Swype. How is dragging my finger around the keyboard faster than typing with my fingers/thumbs? I just see it as a gimmick.
I don't understand Swype. How is dragging my finger around the keyboard faster than typing with my fingers/thumbs? I just see it as a gimmick.
Bitch just use it
I like to switch between Swiftkey X typing and swiping sometimes just to get a change of pace, but then again it's just a personal preference.
I don't understand Swype. How is dragging my finger around the keyboard faster than typing with my fingers/thumbs? I just see it as a gimmick.
fuck I dunno, but I also view touchscreen keyboards as a gimmick.
I don't understand Swype. How is dragging my finger around the keyboard faster than typing with my fingers/thumbs? I just see it as a gimmick.
Swyping is faster if you know what/how to swype SwiftKey is faster if you know how to tap/type the first letters of a word To be honest, I see Swype being faster that SwiftKey but it's hard to capitalize words and such. Only tried it for 24 hours, will use for a week or something.
No if you're good at typing there's no way physically dragging your thumb/finger from letter to letter to make words will be faster than being able to peck at letters with two thumbs.
No it's way better, you just clearly don't understand. Swype *guesses* what you're trying to type, so you can do a ridiculously sloppy scribble and still get the word you want, that's how it's faster
Swype *guesses* what you're trying to type, so you can do a ridiculously sloppy scribble and still get the word you want, that's how it's faster
It does a pretty good if I do a bad job but it can't capitalize some times or I'm doing something wrong.
Swype *guesses* what you're trying to type, so you can do a ridiculously sloppy scribble and still get the word you want, that's how it's faster
Those same algorithms could be applied to a keyboard meant for a hunt and peck typing style. I just feel that you'd need a fair amount of practice with Swype to type faster with a single finger than someone who is merely decent at typing with two thumbs on a keyboard that also has an autocorrect function. That being said, I think the record for phone typing is still held by someone who did it with Swype on a Galaxy S so if you get really good at it you'll beat out us normal typists.
Sometimes I want to lock my screen against input but still have the display on. Is there an "app for that"? (please don't sue me Apple)
Sometimes I want to lock my screen against input but still have the display on. Is there an "app for that"? (please don't sue me Apple)
Would you break out of that by pressing a hardware key or something? I've never seen one but I'm sure the concept has been done. That reminds me a bit of how iPods had that "hold" button where the touch wheel wouldn't work when the switch was enabled.
yeah, a hold function, you could hold the power button to disable it [editline]19th October 2012[/editline] maybe if nobody's written it yet, it could be a good first app project for me oh and regarding Swype, it's amazing for longer words but I agree that it sucks for shorter ones. Fortunately, you can still tap on the Swype keyboard so you get the best of both worlds
what's a good keyboard that's normal but has spellcheck and stuff?
I remember back in one of the early versions of this thread somebody posted a cool app they had made that was a virtual wireframe cloth that you could rip, tear, etc and it was pretty cool. Does anyone know what happened to it or who made it? Even better would be if someone still had it somewhere on their phone or PC but that seems unlikely.
what's a good keyboard that's normal but has spellcheck and stuff?
Swiftkey's pretty good. People on this thread seem to like Thumb keyboard.
Damn it , for some reason I cannot Swype when posting this time wtf... Swype is literally a normal tap keyboard right now ...
I really love how my Note II has rainbow support for it's LED notification! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koo.lightmanager [editline]20th October 2012[/editline] There were an app on XDA that made you able to link folders from internal to external. For example, google made it impossible to app2sd but with this tool I could move game's data folder from internal to external. Newer games can be up to 2GB in size wtf. I lost the link though.
Sounds like it moved the folder and then symlinked/hard-linked it
Do you know how to do that? As I said I lost the link on XDA. Would really love to put Android/data/obb from internal to external.
I have kinda the opposite problem: I need something that can link application files on internal SD to the data partition. Even though I've told all my apps to use /data, some of them still store resources on SD, and it's annoying because I'm running of space on "SD" but yet I still have lots of space on /data. This is once reason I'd love a Nexus: no partitioning. I mean with my phone I can just get an external SD but I have literally no money right now
I'm a dumbass, searched for link2sd in appstore. Exactly what I wanted. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.buak.Link2SD&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5idWFrLkxpbmsyU0QiXQ.. [editline]20th October 2012[/editline]
Or try using Link2SD and Directory Bind and follow the Instruction from both links. Important: You need root! With Link2SD you can mount a second app particion on your external sd-card. Before this you have to format your external sd and to create such a second partition using MiniTool Partition Wizard or any other partition tool (more information here). Don't forget to save your content from external sd to PC before doing so, because all data will be lost! The second step is to mount this second app-partition via Link2SD and to restart your phone. Then you have the ability to move apps from internal app-partition to the external one. With Directory bind you can mount folders to another location. For example you bind an external data folder with the internal one. So when you are in the internal data-folder, you also see the content of the external one or from any other bount folders/locations. With that you are able to move content from internal storage to external one (for example the content from Gameloft games) wihtout loosing the original folder-path. So the content will still be found by the app. It's not easy to explain, just follow the instructions from the app-thread Good luck!
I don't know which one is the best to use? [editline]20th October 2012[/editline] I think Directory Bind since I want to move a folder and not an app? [editline]20th October 2012[/editline] Directory Bind works flawlessly! Moved entire Android/obb to external and the game still works!
