Apps in the background like, I dunno, Skype and Steam?
Nah, I know for sure it's not that, I had started them at 20% battery remaining and even then why wouldn't it show under app usage
Nah, I know for sure it's not that, I had started them at 20% battery remaining and even then why wouldn't it show under app usage
Well if they're sucking data I would imagine it would show up under radio usage. Though it is rather odd your radio is 62% of your battery usage, in my experience it's usually the display that does all the battery sucking (with normal usage of course.)
I'm really unhappy with my Note II now. Fucking damnit.
what do you don't like about it? the size? software?
So last night I cleared my cache and it got my camera working. Today it is back to being inoperable. So I clear my cache again and it works. I go to chrome for a second and return to camera and it has stopped working. Repeated clearing my cache and the camera works for a while and then stops. Guess I need to clear my entire cache whenever I want to take a picture :v:
Yeah, it took me forever, but I finally managed to reinstall ICS, thank fuck, I can't afford an S3 yet Also, I've dropped my phone a shit ton of times and the corners are all dented in and scratched http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Middle-Chassis-Frame-Bezel-Tool-for-TMobile-Samsung-T989-Galaxy-S2-RQHR111-/190741062917?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c690da505 That would just replace the outer shell, right? Like the grey/silver bit that wraps around the phone and holds the buttons?
jesus christ is that comic sans in the photos But on a serious note, although I have no experience with replacing these, it seems like that's what you need, assuming you have the american T-Mobile S2 version. It might (depends entirely on how are the insides put together) be a bitch to replace though. [editline]23rd October 2012[/editline]
Why is the phone radio usage so high
Could be a signal problem/generally really low signal in your area. Maybe try doing a backup, wipe everything and install CM9 from scratch, see if it works and then restore stuff?
How's CM10 on the SGSII doing so far? Considering to bump up in the near future if it's stable enough for daily browsing and media without problems.
Wow Reddit Sync sucks up 30MB app data even after I cleared the cache and everything in app too, damn it.
if I go back one page, the app only loads 13 posts. [editline]23rd October 2012[/editline] Oh wrong thread
Hey, is there a way to change the font size everywhere. I know it's under Settings>Display but the small font is too small and the normal font size is too big. Arggggg...
How's CM10 on the SGSII doing so far? Considering to bump up in the near future if it's stable enough for daily browsing and media without problems.
The battery usage when your screen is on is still pretty high, but otherwise it's damn good for a while now. However, if you can wait like a month, do it. Official JB update is supposed to come out rather soon now = sources = Stable(ish) CM10 just in time for Android 4.2 release :suicide:
I just did a full wipe/factory reset/cache wipe last week. This problem has persisted (to various degrees) since I started using 4.x.x ROMs. [editline]23rd October 2012[/editline] It seems that my camera works again if I keep clearing the Location Services cache. Which is annoying since I never geotag my pictures to begin with.
Have you tried running stock to see if the camera still does it there? Sounds weird that it'd persist so much.
My art studio in college has metal pipes/bars running uncovered across the ceiling, I literally get no signal in there at all, but I can occasionally and slowly get texts argh it murders my battery life :suicide:
My art studio in college has metal pipes/bars running uncovered across the ceiling, I literally get no signal in there at all, but I can occasionally and slowly get texts argh it murders my battery life :suicide:
Just put it on airplane mode or disable the cell radio? Also, I've tried to google but I cant find a definite answer, how would I go about updating my Android version in stock recovery, where do I have to place the update on my phone and is it just simple as clicking the update button?
Just put it on airplane mode or disable the cell radio?
But I'm usually occasionally texting my GF while I potter around the studio :v:
got better battery stats and found out a wakelock called gtalk_async_conn has been going on for over an hour. anyone know what it is and if i can stop it?
got better battery stats and found out a wakelock called gtalk_async_conn has been going on for over an hour. anyone know what it is and if i can stop it?
Googling has this as the first result, http://rootzwiki.com/topic/22762-titanium-backup-gtalk-async-conn-wakelocks/. Ah, here is what it does.
That's how the phone talks to google, ie market and cloud 2 device messages. So any apps running that have cloud features with a remote server?

- Uninstalled Google Maps (rooted; used free edition of Titanium Backup) - Turned off notifications in Market (using Market 3.1.3) - Turned off Google accounting syncing for everything except Gmail (background data / auto-sync still enabled) Partial wakelocks for GTALK_ASYNC_CONN are now very low. Just a couple of seconds over 15+ hours of low use.

Google Talk + WiFi?
The college WiFi requires you to log in with your college ID and then perform a system scan, and obviously it doesn't work with android phones :v: it's meant for laptops, so yeah

Not that I'm saying its a bad thing. Different strokes for different folks and all that.

Different strokes for different folks and all that.
To be honest, the screen is a little small for a modern phone, yes they've made the 5 have a longer screen but it's a little late along the line. Also my theory for the iPhone 5 screen is that they started adding so many default icons, that with iOS6 the vanilla apps didn't fit all on one screen and you would of had an awkward app sitting on a second screen, so they just made it longer to add one more row :tinfoil:

People have been wanting a larger screen, and better playback for HD content, but they didn't want to increase the width of the device so they made it longer. It honestly just brings the apps that fit on a homescreen in line with the iPad. Hooray for PenTile!

hah "if only you had nfc" if my friends had nfc enabled phones i'd be sharing things all the time.
That video is a lot like me... But I'm unashamed. Because it's all true.
