Okay so phone memory where the apps are store for Xperia U is only 2 Gb while the internal memory is 4gb. Can I transfer Apps to the internal 4gb as the device is running Gingerbread basically making it 6GB of any type of user content? Or have I misunderstood everything?

Does anyone know why when I get called on my Galaxy SIII and my earphones are plugged in the ringtone also sounds over my speakers? Or even better how to disable that function?
Does anyone know why when I get called on my Galaxy SIII and my earphones are plugged in the ringtone also sounds over my speakers? Some ROMs, such as Cyanogen on my HTC Desire, patched this issue.

Should I flash CM9 through Odin or through ROM Manager on the phone?
Should I flash CM9 through Odin or through ROM Manager on the phone?
I usually flash CWM recovery through Odin then flash CM via that. Some people will say stay away from ROM Manager. CWM is included in SiyahKernel if you've already flashed that.

My old phone with 2.1 did the exact same thing and it probably did it when it had 1.5. I can honestly say if its a bug, its one I personally don't mind having, since I often leave my headphones plugged into my phone. If I require silence, I just set it to vibrate. Granted, it should be an option though.

Could you elaborate on "flash CWM recovery through Odin"?

Basically you now have a custom recovery you can access if you turn your phone on whilst holding home + volume up. From there you can flash ROMs in the form of .zip files amongst other things. Look it up on the Cyanogen Wiki.

I recall it's deadly important to wipe all cached data on the phone before flashing, I presume this is still the case?

Does Titanium Backup automatically save SMS/MMS and call logs? Or is that a manual operation you need to do on Titanium Backup?
Does Titanium Backup automatically save SMS/MMS and call logs? Or is that a manual operation you need to do on Titanium Backup?
Need to do a manual backup for that.
My preferred app for SMS is SMS Backup & Restore
Is this the GApps pack I should get? http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip And TB says I need the pro version to back-up SMS and call logs? Isn't there another way? Thank you kind sir. [editline]20th September 2012[/editline] Alright, I'm now officially on CM9 with SiyahKernel. Currently restoring all my apps (with data) and I'm good to go! Thank you PyroCF for helping me out with some minor questions!

But, headphones should redirect ALL SOUND unless specified otherwise. It's like how on iOS devices in silent mode the Siri/dictation buttons still make noise. I said NO SOUND, stop having these damn inconsistencies with the rules of your device.
the "loud music may harm your hearing if you listen to it for a long time" popup just popped up and scared the shit out of me why... would you even add such a feature? Is there any way to disable it so I don't have to feel self-conscious every time I crank up the volume?
Never saw it What device/rom?
Apparently it's a default function on the SGS3 to turn down the volume whenever you plug something in and scrutinize you for turning up the volume again [t]http://niggaupload.com/images/EgBbf.png[/t] probably more /r/mildlyinfuriating content than anything

Your contempt for design problems/annoyances are hysterical, even though they're always pointed and insightful. For clarity I'm not laughing at/mocking you, I just really love the air of exasperation that seems to come off of your posts. EDIT: Are there any themers lurking around? I'm curious as to how launcher themes are created in a way that one theme can be parsed/applied across several launcher apps. Do the popular launcher apps like nova/apex/go have cross-compatible theme support built-in, or do devs just know what they're doing and build the themes with support for multiple launchers into the .apk?
Not nearly as great as garychencool's sk17a.
Not nearly as great as garychencool's sk17a.
wat u serious?
Is it just me or did HTC manage to put a relatively massive battery in a 4.3 inch phone? The HTC 8X is basically the One XL shrunk down to a 4.3 inch display and about a millimeter thicker, why don't they make an Android version of this?
-snip- Just installed an equalizer to reduce the bass
How do I unroot my phone before sending it to the repairs? And should I backup? Qnd does the backup copy all the files like contacts and app info?
Cool. The main dev of the CM10 nightlies for my phone is gonna start releasing builds with Linaro optimizations!
Cool. The main dev of the CM10 nightlies for my phone is gonna start releasing builds with Linaro optimizations!
Has Linaro been proven to increase performance i.e. reviewed by a third party?
Has Linaro been proven to increase performance i.e. reviewed by a third party?
It's only really noticeable on lower end devices.
It's only really noticeable on lower end devices.
Still great they're being integrated. Hoping they'll be merged in the Android mainline soon, along with a proper port to x86.
