[QUOTE=FlashFireSix;38182807]One of my facebook friends asked "HTC ONE X or SGS3? Which one should I get?" And some idiot was going against every single person saying SGS3 because her one-x has "BEATZ AUDIO IT'S WELL CRISP AND GOOD" [editline]25th October 2012[/editline] I fucking [I]despise[/I] the whole "beats" thing, they are so fucking terrible for the price you pay for them, it's just bassy crap for people with too much money to buy, my £12 JVC headphones sound better than the beats I tried at HMV[/QUOTE] It's not about sound quality, but the One X+ is going to have better screen, camera, and be a non-shit device.
[QUOTE=Hunt3r.j2;38185472]It's not about sound quality, but the One X+ is going to have better screen, camera, and be a non-shit device.[/QUOTE] The normal One X already has those, but it has no expandable storage and it's not as smooth. [editline]26th October 2012[/editline] Also it's a better screen when you get a good one. I've heard a lot of stories about bright green pixels, makes it sound like these are the reject panels LG won't use in their own devices.
apparently google doesn't want me to buy apps i guess like 6 months ago when my cc info was stolen the cc company erroneously reversed my payment for the humble indie bundle through google checkout. so when i went to purchase an app for the first time in a while last week, i was asked to verify my identity for ~~some reason~~(i had no idea about the charge being reversed). i just got an email saying i need to reverse the reverse charge or i guess it's curtains for my purchasing ability, because apparently it's possible to reverse charges on a card i closed 6 months ago??? and why didn't they even send an email to me about this before i tried to purchase something? the team behind google wallet is full of morons
[QUOTE=Kaabii;38185526]makes it sound like these are the reject panels LG won't use in their own devices.[/QUOTE] See Apple, that's how you wage an effective battle. Not with frivolous lawsuits, but with subtle sabotage.
[QUOTE=garychencool;38183354]I like Sony adverts...[/QUOTE] [media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywUrekw_sHQ[/media] Repost for the hell of it.
[QUOTE=ShaunOfTheLive;38186773]See Apple, that's how you wage an effective battle. Not with frivolous lawsuits, but with subtle sabotage.[/QUOTE] But Apple doesn't make hardware for anyone. The only sort of sabotage they do is buying ENORMOUS amounts of whatever part they need, crippling supply for other companies. Also if you wanna talk about "frivolous" lawsuits you might want to take note of how Apple ISN'T the company being investigated for trying to wage war with FRAND patents. Everyone Feel free to throw your horror stories about frozen balances at me, but I don't have anything in my Paypal balance so I'm not at any risk and I've never personally had issues.
[QUOTE=garychencool;38183354]I like Sony adverts...[/QUOTE] Sony has the best marketing team I swear. They either make insane adverts or memorable as heck ones across all of their products.
[QUOTE=icemaz;38186960]Sony has the best marketing team I swear. They either make insane adverts or memorable as heck ones across all of their products.[/QUOTE] And still [i]almost[/i] nobody buys their phones, so maybe good or memorable advertising isn't the magical key to lots of sales.
[QUOTE=Kaabii;38186974]And still [i]almost[/i] nobody buys their phones, so maybe good or memorable advertising isn't the magical key to lots of sales.[/QUOTE] Well to be fair I've never really seen one of their phone adverts on TV, normally a TV/PS3 one. My girlfriend has the Xperia S and for the life of me I just can't understand the clear bit at the bottom it seems like the weirdest design choice. Has a pretty nice screen though and a decent camera.

And yeah I always see Playstation adverts, not so much TV, cameras or computers. If you go on tech channels like Discovery or G4(although G4 has gone downhill for sometime now), you would see this. I always saw those awesome PS Vita commercials, they are so good. I mean I film stuff (Director, Writer, Director of Cinematography/Photography) and I gotta say Sony commercials are really well made and funny (remember that PS3 guy?) [editline]25th October 2012[/editline] In general Sony makes really good everything. Great TVs, cameras (more specifically their video cameras ranging from your pocket camcorder to the huge cinema cameras), laptops (VAIO series is okay), phones (okay), headphones (some cheap ones are really good), and so on.

They're a great company just made a few mistakes along the way.
[QUOTE=Amiga OS;38178634]I still think the GS3 is a POS, but the advert is great. [editline]25th October 2012[/editline] [img]http://cdn0.sbnation.com/entry_photo_images/7143171/nexus10manual_large_verge_medium_landscape.png[/img] Oh fuck, looks like Samsung has just polluted the N10 with their trademark fat and bloaty look.[/QUOTE] Seen the device with my own eyes (albeit in a prototype state, still looks precisely the same), it's a lot better looking in person! :D

HTC doesn't use LG panels. The only panel codes that have been seen in any HTC devices are Sony, Acer, and Sharp: [url]http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1639924[/url] I've heard stories of dead pixels, but really if you get one the solution is to call in warranty on it.
[QUOTE=Panthereye;38187761]Seen the device with my own eyes (albeit in a prototype state, still looks precisely the same), it's a lot better looking in person! :D[/QUOTE] Is the back made out of plastic? It's probably made out of plastic...
[QUOTE=Cree8ive;38189137]Is the back made out of plastic? It's probably made out of plastic...[/QUOTE] Would you ever expect anything else?
[QUOTE=Cree8ive;38189137]Is the back made out of plastic? It's probably made out of plastic...[/QUOTE] As far as I remember, yes. It's not nearly as awful as the Galaxy Note 10.1, however. Very sturdy. Kinda GNexus/Nexus' like. It can take a beating. Pretty god damned light too. Feels very natural in my medium sized hands. I never got to use the software as it was bootlooping at the time, but as I remember, the boot animation was pretty high res :v:
Hey gary, does [URL="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vivamedia.cmGGTHD"]this game[/URL] show up as compatible with your SK17?

[QUOTE=Amiga OS;38189385]If its made out of that horrific GS3 plastic I'm gonna flip shit, its already got the GS3 style camera lens and bloaty body.[/QUOTE] This. I hated the plastic they used on the GS3, much prefer the rubber feel the Nexus 7 has.
I love how the Note II looks and feels. Maybe I'm alone with liking the plastic body :v:, it feels great.
Can anyone give me a rundown on the full procedure on flashing a whole new ROM? Already got full version of Titanium Backup, ROM Toolbox Pro and also CWM manager installed. But it's the procedure and taking backup of contacts and text messages I'm unclear about [QUOTE=Kaabii;38186921]. Also if you wanna talk about "frivolous" lawsuits you might want to take note of how Apple ISN'T the company being investigated for trying to wage war with FRAND patents.[/QUOTE] Doesn't mean they're innocent and not damaging the market at all though, they just know loopholes with their horde of lawyers.
Anybody have a guide to root an ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T, Android version 4.1.1? I tried google but can only find dodgy sites.
Every time I try to sell stuff, I get an offer to trade whatever I'm selling for Beats headphones. Seriously, what kind of bullshit is that?? [editline]26th October 2012[/editline] Some of them even want me to pay on top srsly
[QUOTE=kaukassus;38188953]I like my beats ;c And yes, I have too much money, and don't know what to buy with it.[/QUOTE] I'm sorry for your loss [editline]26th October 2012[/editline] Oh wow, the "monster beatz" have a freq response of 20Hz - 20,000Hz that's just sad for saying they cost £279 (from amazon)
Am I the only one experiences troubles when responding to quotes on fp using SwiftKey? When it auto corrects something it jumps and corrects the damn quote bbcode. Also for some reason it never wants to make me let the app learn that fuck DOES NOT auto correct to duck. [editline]26th October 2012[/editline] *experiencing Fuck you SwiftKey for not letting me fix the post typo without jumping and deleting shit randomly
[QUOTE=Van-man;38190203]Doesn't mean they're innocent and not damaging the market at all though, they just know loopholes with their horde of lawyers.[/QUOTE] I never said it was or wasn't damaging the market, but it's not "loopholes". Google and Samsung just chose the wrong patents to retaliate with, and thought they'd get away with suing over patents that they have to license under reasonable and non-discriminatory licensing. Acer is an interesting supplier, considering they don't even put IPS panels on their own mobile devices. On their tablets it's "IPS Comparable". Had a friend's SIM card slot randomly stop working in a Galaxy Note, so she switched it back into her old phone and brought the Note over. We decided we might as well try a fresh flash of official CM, but the USB port was broke too so we had to do everything from the SD card (which apparently actually means internal memory, since I had to copy the files there for them to show up on the "SD card" in CWM?) So I go to flash it, and one of the asserts fails so it doesn't flash. I tried toggling asserts off in CWM, but it still wouldn't flash whether they were enabled or disabled. I, being a dumbass, decide the solution is to edit the build.prop to meet the assert criteria instead of editing the install script or googling the issue, so I change ro.product.device (I think) to n7000 and go to flash again.. assert still fails. So I go to boot back into Android, and surprise, stuck on the Samsung logo. I then bother to Google the issue and it looks like a newer version of CWM would've fixed it? But now we get to wait for a replacement USB port to arrive so that I can just get the damn thing back to stock and start from scratch.

Why didn't you bring it back for warranty?
