How big (filesize wise) is the Sprint Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean update supposed to be?
Hey gary, does this game show up as compatible with your SK17?
Well yeah, my phone totally has Tegra.
I believe that's a fake. Look: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29316521&postcount=416
That looks awfully similar to the leaked Carphone Warehouse shot, so unless CPW accidentially used a leaked image (wouldn't surprise me in the slightest) it's probably pretty close
brb rooting note2 [editline]26th October 2012[/editline] root and CWM aquired [editline]26th October 2012[/editline] Shit dude it didn't even detect that I did flash a recovery. Hello warranty
can somebody suggest me a pdf reader that doesn't suck
I have the one gary suggested, but I use the officesuit one.

2560x1600 SAMOLED? Well that'll be interesting to see since the best we've seen is like 1280x800 on a mobile device. Samsung's calibration + RGBG though, I was hoping for an IPS or PLS panel.
I have the one gary suggested, but I use the officesuit one.
The office suite one sucks imo
Well yeah, my phone totally has Tegra.
You don't have to be sarcastic. I was wondering because it says it's compatible with all Android phones, with optional Tegra enhancements. But I guess they lied.
You don't have to be sarcastic. I was wondering because it says it's compatible with all Android phones, with optional Tegra enhancements. But I guess they lied.
The app description did say it was for Tegra devices, right?
post-apple lawsuit design, yuck. also it uses phone mode ui lmao
It seems like Google is ditching the full tablet view forever. It'll probably still be available as a DPI tweak for a long while though. Which I would be sort of okay with considering the Hybrid UI is not really bad (and now that 4.1.2+ has a landscape homescreen it's even better) , but the navigation keys in the middle on landscape are stupid.

Hopefully with TWO Nexus tablets out we'll see developers start to make apps that really take advantage of all that screen real estate.
The app description did say it was for Tegra devices, right?
I guess. Well, not really. It's vague.
Crazy Machines Golden Gears THD is available in English and German for all Android devices with enhanced graphics for NVIDIA Tegra 3 devices.
(vague use of the word "with" to join those two clauses) And the actual site simply says "for all Android devices". EDIT Actually, I see the problem now. The site never mentions "THD", but the actual Google Play page does. I'm guessing THD stands for Tegra HD, but there should also be a regular version that I'm not seeing on Google Play. The actual site never mentions Tegra once, so I guess the developers are just shitty.

THD has always meant a Tegra specific version of an app IIRC. [editline]26th October 2012[/editline]
Actually, I see the problem now. GTA3 is $0.99 and GTA: Vice City is coming out this fall!

So I guess the developer just hasn't released the non-THD version yet, which is really sloppy and misleading.

That's perfectly sound logic, if you want X developer to make a holo app then Google needs to start mandating updates and getting every possible user updated to the latest version. If 2% of users will end up using a Jellybean feature in an app that takes a bunch of effort to add, some poor developer barely making any money on Google Play isn't going to add it. [editline]26th October 2012[/editline]
Almost everyone I know who has an Android phone doesn't have an Android tablet. It's just me I guess.
Most people don't have tablets in general. They're not too useful for productivity at the moment, although I'll have to use a surface to see if that holds true for Win8 RT + MS Office.

Can that be used for installing Xubuntu?
Google should bust out the whip on phone manufacturers so they'd make firmware upgrades for devices that technically easily can run ICS/jelly bean
Definitely. Imagine if with 4.2 came some sort of contract system for OEMs where Google says until every phone they deem capable runs the latest version, you don't launch a single new device running Android. That's just my idea of how to do it, I'm sure there are lots of ways they could get OEMs in line. Some threats to cut them off from Google Apps might be enough to scare lazy OEMs into updating their phones.
some poor developer barely making any money on Google Play isn't going to add it.
Although a decent number of small developers that either make their apps completely free or make barely any money from them add as many features and UI support as they can, while a multi-million company just shits on even the basic things. I'm not expecting Facebook to add expandable notifications for example (maybe by 2024), but a tablet UI seems to be a much higher priority, especially now that there's low-cost high quality Android tablets. [editline]26th October 2012[/editline] wait a minute did your nickname change?
