I think I've called it the iTouch once or twice.
Doesn't bother me, nor do I really give a shit.
iPod Touch was one of Apple's naming mistakes. All their other products are 2 syllables or 1 word (iMac, MacBook, iTV, Mac Pro, iBook?, iPhone, etc) and unlike the Shuffle/Nano, "Touch" is a more common word and could be ambiguous in many contexts, hence iTouch.
iPod Nano, iPod Shuffle, iPod Classic...
...iTV is 3 syllables, so is MacBook Pro, so is OSX, so is Snow Leopard, etc.
I call it my 'iTouch' all the time because it's more convienient to say, like saying 'wanna' instead of 'Want to'
Don't see much wrong with it in my perspective, people know what you're talking about when you say 'iTouch'.
Had a social studies teacher talking about how he wanted one, and he said "Itouch myself" where he meant "I have an ipod touch myself"
I lol'd hard.
