I don't know how far away we are from a 5xxx series release from ATi, but until then, unless your card is faulty, I recommend you wait until ATi release some new cards. That is, of course, unless you want to blow hundreds more on an nVidia card.
http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/14687/65/ DirectX 11.
^Win.^ Definitely waiting for that.
I can't seem to start CCC. Whenever I try it appears in the task manager, but nothing else happens. I also barely installed the 9.7 drivers n stuff. It was always bluescreening my system, till I installed drivers and CCC separatly. Any ideas how to resolve? my specs: OS: Win7 x64 RC CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 GPU: Gainward HD4870X2 (the 3 slot one) RAM: 4096MB 1066Mhz DDR2 mobo: Gigabyte GA P35-DS3 rev 1.0
I start it, it extracts, i select my language and then i select install and it crashes i'ts been like this since 8.something. i don't even remember what version of ccc i'm on
Oh this is just fucking great. I can't set my fan speed to lower than 50%. I have 2 fans on my graphics card, and it makes an annoying amount of noise when it's at 50%, but very nice at 40%, and it's still well within acceptable temps as well. Screw you ATi. When I get up tomorrow I'm reinstalling 9.6.

I think I'll be going back to 9.6. 9.7 has been working for me the last few days that I've had it. But just today I loaded up CCC, it had just been sitting in my taskbar before. Not only is the UI terrible, I think it's causing Vista to crash. Sometimes when I'm just kinda sitting there, and I get a screen full of vertical grey and white bars, then a hard reboot. If I even try to load a game, it's an insta-reboot. Didn't start happening until after I loaded up the new CCC UI for the first time. :/
Well, now I'm definitely going to wait for 9.8.
Since I installed the 9.7 drivers, my system keeps on bluescreening randomly.
OK, reinstalled 9.6. Sweet silence...
ffffffffs Downgraded to 9.6 and I still get the grey and white bars followed by an insta-reboot. I blame Vista.
I've 9.7, everything is working fine here.
