What Anti-Virus and that should I get? I got Avira and I thought about going premium with them.
I got Malware bytes, Spybot S&D. What else should I get or have? (I've been having some internet speed problem. Talked to my ISP an they said it could be my modem shitting the bed.)
My setup:
- Sandboxie (browsing the internet inside it)
- Comodo Internet Security 2012
- MBAM
Also I've noticed there was some incompatibly issues between Comodo Internet Security 2013 and Sandboxie. Sandboxie doesn't seem to work well especially when browsing the internet through it. I downgraded to Comodo Internet Security 2012 and everything has pretty much been stable. Does anyone with the same combo experience the same issue?

I haven't, I don't use Sandboxie, but I have notices that Comodo 2013 is shit. I actually downloaded a trial for ESET Smart Security 6, which is the NOD 32 guys kinda complete package thing, and it's fucking great.
ESET Smart Security 6 is absolutely amazing. On a whim I gave Norton Internet Security a try (not the other package that fits in lots of useless bullshit) and so far it's not bad at all. It barely uses any resources and scans incredibly quickly after the first few scans. Inputting folders to ignore was a breeze and changing around settings were as well. Norton did well.
Although as always it tries to install its protection software in your browser as well, but when I started up Firefox it just gave me an option to not install it at all.
If you guys have any questions about malware I'll be pretty happy to answer them the best I can. I research it as a hobby so I've got quite a bit of knowledge on the topic!
I have the free version of AVG 2012 on here, but I'm getting a laptop next month with Windows 8 installed on it. On said laptop, should I stick with MSE or grab another antivirus program like Malwarebytes or Avast! or something?
avast. mse's detection blows

oh and mse is renamed to windows defender on win8. i think it's preinstalled.
linux
Am I seriously the only one who use BitDefender?

My understanding is that MSE got better.

Meanwhile I'm rocking Avast! + Comodo Firewall with MBAM on the side.
Still using NoScript and AdBlockPlus.

Eh I prefer not to pay for my AV.

Judging from the AV reports, Windows Defender still sucks.

I hate to bump the thread, but I have a warning about BitDefender (specifically BitDefender 2012):
I just dealt with the Ukash virus (kills/infects explorer.exe, launches a webpage to a scam site saying "the police locked your PC, pay us $100 to unlock" etc) on a friend's computer, and he had BitDefender 2012 installed. I managed to deal with the virus with using a system restore, malwarebytes, etc, and everything seemed fine until I tried to uninstall BitDefender 2012 (he suggested to replace it, so I said sure why not)
The un-installation of BitDefender failed (for no reason, generic windows error messages came up saying that files were missing, etc) and the un-installation stopped part way I guess- and then the internet suddenly cut out. I checked if the cable was fine using other computers etc and the cable seemed to be fine. I checked device manger and saw that in addition to his normal network card driver there was two drivers both containing 'BitDefender' in them, and that device manager said they were missing.
I tried to remove them to no avail, as they kept reinstalling themselves (both on boot and in real time). I managed to find an uninstaller on their site and finally uninstall those drivers, but the original network card the guy had installed's driver wasn't working anymore, so he had to fork out $20 to grab a new one (he didn't have the disk/driver for the card, couldn't find it on the internet because shit's old) from the computer store near by. I installed that and it's driver and everything was fine again.
In short, I don't wouldn't trust BitDefender because it installs it's own drivers for your hardware that can fuck up and cost you a lot of time and stress fixing it if you have no idea it's BitDefender's fault. I checked his other PCs and not all of them have those same network card drivers, but if you do you should probably uninstall it immediately.
Thanks a ton for the heads up, man. I just checked and I thankfully do not have any drivers that contain "BitDefender" in them, however if I ever get into the same situation your friend got into, I'll make sure to get the un-installation software from their website.
I've had BitDefender for 1-1½ years now, and I haven't encountered any problems what so ever. It works really well for me, but I'll definitely be more wary of it in the future.
Once again, thank you.
i remember when my avasts memory scanner module got fucked and it said everything in ram was a botnet, even steam, itself, svchost, dwm.exe everything. it was pretty funny.
Avast or mse? Im using mse currently.

Use the former.

I would use bitdefender if it didn't slow down my computer, and it also slows down my internet somehow.
