Couldn't anyone just make a thread with precise instructions how to mine litecoins & how to mine bitcoins... It looks cool and all, but it seems like a bit of a mess.
Step 1. Download litecoin client. Step 2. Download a miner. (CGMiner - idk how to use, Scryptminer - easy to use) Step 3. Put the miner into the litecoin folder. Step 4. Launch litecoin Step 5. Find a nice pool (give-me-ltc.com) Step 6. Register, create workers Step 7. Litecoin, Miner, Insert pool info. Like this Step 8. Press - START MINING - wait - you start mining.
but according to the internet, a 4650 only gets 17khash :c
Try anyway
http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1257249
I said tutorial, not FAQ
Try anyway
that's actually really damn slow, it works best with amd cards 5xxx or newer
Do you have to sync the litecoin client?
Nope. It will start mining anyways.
Nope. It will start mining anyways.
Scryptminer only has a list of 4 pools, mine isnt there.
Scryptminer only has a list of 4 pools, mine isnt there.
I started mining using the litecoin client, Scryptminer isn't even directly launched, the minerd.exe is required. And when I used scryptminer GUI, I didn't change the pool, simply added the server, user etc. and it worked.
How long should it take for the miner to start? Mine has just been sitting there for about 15 minutes.
It's working. 12.5Khash/s
How this thread makes me feel: 1. Mine *coins for a week 2. Become richer than your wildest dreams
How this thread makes me feel: 1. Mine *coins for a week 2. Become richer than your wildest dreams
Started mining last week. I've made roughly $8.
Is there any other way to make the database download somewhere else? I'm running low on SSD space and its using the appdata on my SSD.
Why do i have 10 unpaid shares and 1 paid?
I feel like LTC won't take off that much but I guess it's worth a shot
Is there any other way to make the database download somewhere else? I'm running low on SSD space and its using the appdata on my SSD.
Just use an online wallet like blockchain.info, you don't have to sync anything.
I feel like LTC won't take off that much but I guess it's worth a shot
I like to think that's exactly what someone who is pretty goddamn rich right now said to himself, but about BTC, four years ago.
Hmm, I should set up all my computers (I don't even know how many I have at this point) and mine. brb causing global warming
I like to think that's exactly what someone who is pretty goddamn rich right now said to himself, but about BTC, four years ago.
well yeah but now there is bitcoin, there's not much room for another virtual currency. Although I do see the potential value of litecoin, where supposedly ASIC miners will have little effect on the network, and it won't get blown out of proportion by itself. And there's really no reason not to mine LTC right now so I'm going for it. [editline]8th April 2013[/editline] 14 KH/S on an i3 2100 FUCK YES
I started ScryptMiner about 10 minutes ago on both my laptop and desktop, and both are doing nothing. [editline]8th April 2013[/editline] GUIMiner too, thats doing nothing. [editline]8th April 2013[/editline] Actually, GUIMiner says "2013-04-08 13:24:50: Listener for "Default": [2013-04-08 13:24:50] Most likely you have input the wrong URL, forgotten to add a port, or have not set up workers" even though i'm using the exact guide on the website.

Hello
[editline]8th April 2013[/editline] I see somebody found a use for their raspberry pi. The Ethernet controller probably gets hot enough to make a cup of tea.
This is making me even more tempted to get off my arse and make a device that fully implements HTCPCP
Well now I'm going home to start mining Litecoins on both my servers just to crunch the numbers and see what sort of results I get. 16 Xeon cores hoooooooooo!
If people seriously need help with Litecoin mining, I might do a tutorial tomorrow.
why not heavycoins check ur priviledge
If people seriously need help with Litecoin mining, I might do a tutorial tomorrow.
I got mine working in an instant thanks to you (However, my OS wasn't really happy about scrypt to begin with and wouldn't let me extract it at first). However, I noticed you had it set to two threads? I put it back to the default one and suddenly I have 6-8khash more? If you know anything about bitcoins too, you might as well do a mega-thread. Feel free to write to me if you want some help with describing it with images :v:
I just started Litecoin mining with guiminer and i already earned 4$.
RemoteApp is a pretty awesome thing. I can run Steam on an ARM tablet :v:
