NTFS on removable media? Whyyyy
So you can have >4GB files...
The fuck is with that stare at the end. You wanna go? Come take me, I'll go!
I decided to leave it in, I was looking at myself in the LCD. Also I seemed to copy Tek on that thumbnail. I like the style.
So you can have >4GB files...
You don't say? [editline]9th April 2013[/editline] Pardon my early morning grumps. ily
To be fair exFAT is also a solution for that, but isn't nearly as close to as supported.
Guys, I am in an incredibly good mood. I spoke to my boss a bout leaving. He was in a really good mood. And he says this is good news for me, and he's glad I found other opportunities. He said he realized this job wasn't for me for a little while now and he's happy things worked their way out. He even said he took some responsibility for my performance, which blew my mind. He said he can start the process and I can be out within a few days with the rest of my pay. I am so fucking happy. It's unreal.

Of course, by then, it probably wont even be worth having.
i saw a guy in a siemens high vis running for a train yesterday
Tried it earlier. Didn't work, unfortunately.
Speaking of recovery, I mentioned this on FB and Twitter but I shot my first interview of my brother on sunday and I used my new audio gear and he discussed his past drug life and jail time. It's for my documentary project for school, though now we're planning this to be a full half hour deal. Anyways, my 64GB SanDisk Ultra card just decided, "Nope, bye goodnight" and stopped working. I lost like 90minutes of some of my brothers very emotional memories of his worst time in his life. And my "X-Ray Roof, WaterProof, shock proof, lifetime warranty, guaranteed reliable" SD card dies in an hour and a half. I only knew it went bad when I turned the camera off to switch lenses.
i feel so bad for you, man i had that happen with my transcend 8gb. lost all my holiday photos and 2 paid photoshoots.
Thing is, all of the magic lantern files seem fine. But the partition is still fucked. And all the video files are there, but they are corrupted. I don't think ML is the issue since I've been using it for over 18 months on my camera and even on my 64GB for hours at a time. I shot like 3 hours of video on it before nonstop. So I guess I'm going to put the 64GB in without ML and record for like as much as I can and see what happens. I mean if the last file was corrupted I guess that's... fine, but it looks like it goes back and corrupts the files, which seems really odd. [editline]9th April 2013[/editline] I'm going to bring my laptop with me next week along with an external harddrive, I'm going to shoot, then take out the SD card, and copy files. To be fucking sure it works. So I'll have a copy going as I record more.

The details are a bit fuzzy, but it wouldn't hurt to check things over in a hex editor to make sure all the headers or whatever are correct.

The file still come up, but they don't... work. Like I get maybe 40Gb of my normal .mov files but they don't function.
Upload it to the ~cloud~
I can confirm this for effective. [sub][sub]PS Before you guys comment on "omg why not backblaze" I got the crashplan unlimited plan for literally nothing.[/sub][/sub]
Take an image of it first, I'll talk to my forensics professor to see if there's any hope.
I'll see if I can put it on my server or something. That'd be great. We'replanning on reshooting, but we'd like to have it still. What kind of image would work for you? [editline]9th April 2013[/editline] I still need to get a subscription to backblaze. 95 bucks for two years or something like that. I have 14TB to upload :|
My roommate said to me "Why would you ever need a flash drive? Just use the cloud for everything" We're both CS students.
My roommate said to me, a CS student, "Why would you ever need a flash drive?"
He's living a double life.
My roommate said to me "Why would you ever need a flash drive? Just use the cloud for everything" We're both CS students.
He must be a pretty bad CS student.

My boss sent me a nice short email back. I needed to formally send him a message so he could forward it to HR.
Thanks Brett I will send to HR and let you know the exit interview date. It should be shortly. Thank you too for your past contribution and I wish you all the best in pursuing your career goals. -BossName
He's been great, I just feel that I kept wasting peoples time here. I think this exit is perfectly timed.
My roommate said to me "Why would you ever need a flash drive? Just use the cloud for everything" We're both CS students.
is it bad that I actually partly agree with him i very rarely need a flash drive other than when I have to boot from a LiveCD
I just shove everything on my google drive, i rarely don't have some sort of internet connection I do all of my presentations on drive too, people get to laugh at my plus avatar :v:
