From Brt:
8:07 PM - SirCrest: If you want, post that it's running though a tube amp, which makes it feel warmer. I also have a high pass filter on, I think 80hz so it's a bit cleaner on the low end.
/g/ modifies their thinkpad (clickable) [t]http://i.imgur.com/Ftd9DJ1.jpg[/t]
and then some goofball changes the keyboard layout to AZERTY

Totally gonna do that to my 1000$+ laptop
The HDDs have been worn down and sound like a motorcycle without a muffler, they had to shut it down.
No SCSI hotswap? Damn. What exactly makes faceless keyboards so exciting? It seems more of an anoyance than anything. Unless your computer crashes so damn much you made every key the ANY key.

My parents bought one today. [editline]6th April 2013[/editline] And I brought the dying/broken one back to life.
what are the likely changes in SSDs over the next ~6 months
And I brought the dying/broken one back to life.
Did you get a defibrillator?
defillabrillamator
Where could I find a PCI (Not PCI-X or PCI-E) NIC that has two Ethernet ports, preferably gigabit? I want to turn my fanless, low-power Neoware CA2 into a router. It has one 10/100 Ethernet port on it already, though I'd like to have a dedicated port for a wireless AP. If that's not possible, could I shove a couple PCI-E Ethernet cards into my server and run Zeroshell or Monowall within Hyper-V?
Did you get a defibrillator?
I performed mouth to cd-drive.
I performed mouth to cd-drive.
they're DVD drives now, Makol...
What are DVDs?
How the hell does the SSL service I use manage to go down just as I need a damn cert. Sigh.
What are DVDs?
Delectable vegetarian dish. They're very rare.

I can find 2xGbE PCI cards on NewEgg, but they're $170. But you can get 1xGbE cards for just $20-$30, or lower. Also, is it just me or does the math for GbE on PCI not add up? PCI (32-bit, 33MHz, as is standard) is barely over 1Gb/s of bandwidth. I doubt you can actually get full speed on both ports simultaneously, unless there's a lot of stuff able to be offloaded for some reason.
Of course Apples requires T6 Torx screwdrivers to remove their hard drive mount and I only have T7, T8, and T9 Torx screwdrivers... [editline]6th April 2013[/editline] I might as well just velcro the ssd in than go buy a pack of $47 screwdrivers that I'll never use.
