Crap, someone nailed it. :/. In the mean time, I heard the 460 GTX was pretty good for it's time, but had high power consumption.
R7 260x on Newegg look good

The 7850 is faster and cheaper. The entire R7 line is a rip off when it comes to price.

Well he was considering 7770s. R7 260Xs are not that much more expensive than those and they are slightly less expensive than 7850s.

Cheapest 260X and 7850 I could find (at least on Newegg).
Not counting mail in rebates (as you should).
Cheapest 7850 is $140, but it used to be $120 which I was going off of. Cheapest 260X is $140.
They are now the same price since AMD has been making some price raises on their cards recently. The 7770s he was considering were all $100. The R7 260X is the successor to the 7790 so it runs faster than the 7770, but the price point is a good bit above the original $100 of the budget.
Either way the 7850 is still a better deal.
Why not count in rebates?
They're gimmicky, don't always work with some companies, require quite a bit of extra effort, and you still have to spend the initial money to begin with. Mail in rebates wouldn't exist if companies didn't expect half of people not to send them in and quite a bit of them to get "lost in the mail." It's still just an opinion though (although I'm pretty sure even considering MiRB, the price is still equal or close enough to justify the extra).
All 3 of my rebates have gone through. That's why I like them so far.
Rebates are dogey. Depending on who you get them from. I heard MSI likes to give you the run around. Corsair didn't me my rebate despite the fact I sent what was needed. Anyway, I actually manage to revive my 560 GTX using the oven method. So far, so good. However, I know this temp fix. Longest I've heard it lasting was a year. I'll probably just hold to the money. I very much appreciate the advice though.
