I would use Rainmeter to launch applications I use frequently but the icon limit for Gnometer is 22x22, thinking of switching to another theme

Changed it to this today, not sure how I feel about it yet. I usually like a background of vast plains and shit, so it feels like i'm looking into another world and junk.
[img_thumb]http://ahb.me/1FNk[/img_thumb]
Shiiiit. Is that really Gnome? I never really could get satisfied with Linux in terms of appearance, but that looks quite nice.
It took a fair bit of customisation, but yes, that's GNOME. If anyone needs any advice on how to achieve a specific part of the look, feel free to ask.
It took a fair bit of customisation, but yes, that's GNOME. I love that shit in Windows, but I only get fake, half-working transparency. Even with Compiz. The panel has a transparent background, yes, but the tray and everything on it doesn't.
Yeah, that required a bit of a hack.
3) If your GTK theme specifies a panel background, you'll notice that your Gnome-Panel is very inconsistant looking (some parts will have the background image you choose, some parts will have the background specified by your GTK theme. To correct this, you'll have to comment out the "bg_pixmap[NORMAL]" line of your theme's gtkrc file. This is easiest done for a theme you've installed to your user account (most self-installed themes), and not system-wide (themes installed via a package manager, default themes, etc). My instructions are only for user installed themes, but an advanced user could easily do this system wide with root permissions. Browse to /home/<your-user-name>/.themes/<name-of-your-current-theme>/gtk-2.0 and open the gtkrc file in a text editor. Search for the "bg_pixmap[NORMAL]" line and put a # sign in front of it. Save the file. This will comment out that line so that your theme doesn't apply a panel background. You may need to reapply your GTK theme in "System > Preferences > Appearance" for the change to take effect.
I got a transparent panel background theme that gives a nice look (but I'm not using it, using plain transparency), and those instructions are from that.
