I'm not calling them dumb, I'm calling their desktop dumb :p.
Isn't that the definition of a troll btw? Highly subjective opinion with desire of emotional response
OMG me too! [img_thumb]http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/8167/unled2r.png[/img_thumb] ok enough of that. I just think that I have extra mem, I don't need to conserve mem that much. I can turn off rain meter anytime.
Actually, this would be trolling.
Actually, this would be trolling.
actually no, since I'm actually sending my project over through SSH. I just print screen what I have.
actually no, since I'm actually sending my project over through SSH. I just print screen what I have.
Look at your full quote.
I just think that I have extra mem, I don't need to conserve mem that much. I can turn off rain meter anytime.
You mean this part? How is that trolling? I am justifying my action in using rain meter. I do have extra mem, so I can use it. Mem conservation is not my focus at all. In case of emergency, I can turn it off, if I want. Which part of that may incense you in any shape or form? I really don't get it...

wtf is your prob, man? I never posted your photo, why did you edit my post? If you really want to show your pic, it's fine. but you do look like an idiot in that pic. nice tie, though. [editline]8th April 2011[/editline] Are you rating people dumb just to grab attention? (hoping that people would ask you why to talk to you) If you are, you have my most sincere pity. You must had a poor environment while growing up.
Ok, let's compare memory usage. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/UJ5ug.jpg[/img_thumb] 240mb with 4 Chromium tabs, Wicd, 3 Pidgin chat sessions, and various utilities. You're a ricer. [editline]7th April 2011[/editline] You shouldn't have done that, I recognize the Ghostly International icon and reported you for being the alt of a permabanned user.
What's funny is that actually NOT using free memory is a waste of resource. Same thing people complaining about win7 using all their memory. Well, I'm sorry, I think windows using your memory that you paid for to be used actually makes perfect sense. It's not like windows took your memory hostage and ain't giving it back.
Facepunch really is a prime example of mob mentality.
How about instead of arguing like worthless pieces of trash, we post desktops, huh? [editline]7th April 2011[/editline] Here, I'll kick us off, since the rest of you are morons and forgot how to do it:
[img_thumb]http://i.cubeupload.com/y8CXEn.png[/img_thumb]
Windows Embedded? :what: also, nice default pinned items.
Windows Embedded? :what: also, nice default pinned items.
It's Windows Thin PC.
that is more like a console screen than desktop. If you don't even have a 'desktop,' then why are you even browsing in this thread and rating people dumb? lol
He wants us to believe that the ''angry reactions are funny'', which is the most tired excuse ever. And even then, he ends up looking like a gigantic nerd.
the best part is, I do sort of agree with ca5bah. I hate most uses of rainmeter, it's very rarely used correctly. I only have that on there because I need to see the time on my left monitor while playing games (no clock in the room, would prefer taskbar on main monitor). I don't have much ram (4gb) so I like to monitor just how much I'm using so i can cut back on the shit. I will admit that I only have CAD running in the bottom left because it looks cool, and you can rate me dumb all you want, but that's a personal preference and it really doesn't affect performance any more than rainmeter. Rating everyone dumb because they use a program that you personally hate is pretty dickish, and very, very narrow-minded of you.
When I get my decent computer I shall use Omnino rainmeter Skin, with the 'Static' theme for windows 7 and a square orb, I like sharp edges in UI like that.

It's nothing spectacular. 1920x1080, Dell Ultrasharp 23" functioning as a monitor. Tried to chance the toolbar icons for the softwares there but turns out I'd have to go through some trouble getting them all using the same theme. Wouldn't mind a more subtle start-up windows orb though.

Check deviantart screenshot section with rainmeters, there a quite a few decent configurations that fit very well with overall theme. Besides, having lots of info on desktop makes sense because it's your workspace and I, for example, rarely see my desktop. So whenever I need to know something, like news, HDD space, whatever the fuck it could be, I just Win+D and there it is, instead of pretty wallpaper staring at me, I have important (relatively) info at my disposal. And all of this for measly 40mb. Just because some people shit up and stack lotsa rainmeter addons on their desktop, doesn't mean rainmeter is bad or it can't be used efficiently.
See, that's what I don't understand. I can check all of the stats I need, even on Windows, within 2 or 3 clicks/commands.
See, that's what I don't understand. I can check all of the stats I need, even on Windows, within 2 or 3 clicks/commands.
I don't want to alt+tab out of my games. How do you want me to display that information without doing so, without rainmeter?
See, that's what I don't understand. I can check all of the stats I need, even on Windows, within 2 or 3 clicks/commands.
It's really for the sake of convienience in my case. I am intested in how much RAM I'm using and it helps to see it after Win+D opposed to opening task manager and going to the performance tab. Also, if done right (mine isn't done right, yet) it can look totally awesome.
See, that's what I don't understand. I can check all of the stats I need, even on Windows, within 2 or 3 clicks/commands.
I exchange 2-3 clicks for 1 click and 40mb of ram that I paid for. I must be crazy.
See, that's what I don't understand. I can check all of the stats I need, even on Windows, within 2 or 3 clicks/commands.
It's just easy to view than to navigate and click. I like to see how much RAM and HDD space I have used/left. I like to see my weather for the days ahead, I like to see my temps without opening anything. I like to be lazy on my comp, and Rainmeter helps me do that immensely.

Remember when we had to go to a website to find out?
Next: Weather radar for Rainmeter so you don't even have to go to a website for that either! :v: Okay, maybe that's a tad too far.

[editline]8th April 2011[/editline]
Weather radar as wallpaper :buddy:
Now that might be too far. :v:
