The desktop is there for a reason. To put things on.
Actually the desktop is there for you to do what you wish with it.
Looks a bit silly with nothing on it at all though, its there to be used not to be a pretty picture.
Looks a bit silly with nothing on it at all though, its there to be used not to be a pretty picture.
I only use it for temporary stuff. I either get rid of the stuff or organize it into a different location to make it empty when I'm not using it. It prevents it from all building up and getting cluttered.
Ah right, also what " is your screen?
More anime!
No, thanks! I like anime, but not on my desktop. :downs:
Ah right, also what " is your screen?
Me? Mine's 19".
Anyone know how to get rid of these squares around some icons?
Me? Mine's 19".
Ah the screenshot makes it seem alot bigger.
Looks a bit silly with nothing on it at all though, its there to be used not to be a pretty picture.
What would you suggest? I got folders for temp downloads. Rainmeter is a bit overkill for me since I rarely see the desktop, plus I hate it minimising when using the Show Desktop strip on the task bar. I got my shortcuts in the task bar. The only time I see the desktop is when starting/shutting down Windows, or when I'm not at the computer. Maybe a more busy and bright background?
what would i need to put on my desktop that i couldn't just pin to the taskbar or start menu?
I'm pretty boring when it comes to desktops. I don't use icons either because I tend to use ctrl+R for just about everything since I've added my desktop folder to the path variable. Yeah... Still some boring shit.
i absolutely hate my desktop.
My monitor is 1600x900

Yes, I have a crappy monitor resolution. :(

Its your desktop at the end of the day though. :)
I mostly end up hating my background, so right now I'm trying to keep it simple.
A gradient or something on that would add some kind of visual flare without being overly complex (if you like, I'll whip you a dirtily speedy one up)
Anyone know how to get rid of these squares around some icons?
Just make the icons smaller. Either by right clicking on the desktop, hover over "view" and select "small icons" or hold down Ctrl and scroll down with your mouse wheel. Or you could find larger icons.
Instead of showing you what my tiled image looks like, here is what my desktop looks like 90% of the time. [img_thumb]http://up.1337.jp/ksed.png[/img_thumb]
Wall rotates through 4 different pictures.
Nice desktop man, could you hook me up with how you got the icons looking like that?
Nice desktop man, could you hook me up with how you got the icons looking like that?
These are the icons I used with Avedesk: http://umar123.deviantart.com/art/32px-Mantra-v2-166693983?q=1&qo=1 These are the icons I used on the taskbar: http://browse.deviantart.com/?qh=&section=&global=1&q=token#/d24gow2
Still workin on it. Most of my desktop pictures don't scale right and only show part of it. Anybody know how to fix this? [editline]08:58PM[/editline] Woah, ignore the white. my bad.
