Damnit, you guessed the color scheme I use for my terminal.
you should embrace other linux users, not comment on how they use an os that 'babies' them buttsexv2 is the kind of person that makes the linux community look like a pack of elitist morons no idea why you'd make something like synaptic sound like a idiot's tool, debian is great. also windows user agent
:words:
I use Debian. Synaptic is not part of Debian. I'm not saying that everyone should use the terminal for everything they do, I'm just saying the people should use the terminal whenever suitable. Example, I'd much rather run Scrollz or BitchX than an IRC client like kvirc or Xchat, but I hate things like nano, I would rather use Emacs or even gedit. also I have multiple computers, not all of them run Linux 24/7
The point is your being an elitist twit, and acting like you are above using package managers, which by the way I don't know how you can call unorganized, you just type the package name in the search bar and it pops up, but I guess that's too babyish for you.
Alright, lets give you that I'm being an elitist twit. You're being a self-aggrandizing twit.
Genius! But I have a better idea! But instead of making it easier on myself, maybe I should copy paste that into the terminal like you do, that way I can feel smart and satisfy my gargantuan ego! Because I don't use Linux because I prefer it, I use it so I can feel superior!
What? That's just silly. Terminal is just faster. And doesn't waste time on a pointless GUI.
A gui can be useful in a lot of cases but in this case it's just faster to type sudo pacman -S firefox or sudo apt-get install firefox than to open Synaptic, wait for it to load, search for the firefox application, then click install, then look at some silly loading bar, and then press ok.
Synaptic is nice to browse shit. But yeah not everybody has the time/skill to tweak and compile packages. Like I, for one, don't give a damn for hard user experience.
You don't have to compile the packages yourself.
I do care about knowing what the hell is going. There is not a single piece of unwanted software or unwanted background processes running.
