Hello everyone.
So, my Live Messenger just suddenly stopped working. It was working fine until a few days ago.
The problem is that it just won't sign in on my account. I tried using an alternative account and it worked normally?
It does NOT give and error message. It just tries to log in for eternity. I tried reinstalling it, but the problem persists. I can't figure out what's wrong ... Ebuddy works fine , but WLM just doesn't want to sign in.
Can anybody tell me of a possible fix or an alternative (Other than Ebuddy, I hate that shit)
Thanks ! :)
EDIT:
Just realized this belongs in the Technical Support area... Damn.
You could try to remove Messenger's cache (where ever it's stored). Often the cache is not removed when reinstalling a program.
I do have an alternative for you.
Pidgin: http://www.pidgin.im/
It allows you to use the MSN protocol and others, It's generally easy to setup and works like a charm. There are also options to disable incoming custom smileys and formated text. It also allows you to set a name for you contacts (locally, you won't actually change their name, they'll just show as that name for you).
I really like it for these features. No more people changing their names every hour or so, no more huge red text with giant animated images replacing words like "LOL".
It takes most of the shitty out of MSN.
It supports plugins and allows you to customize about anything.

Although I like Pidgin, you can do all of that with the default client. >_>
