I think some people are just a little upset that apple products are so trend setting, so industry defining, that one day they just might have to change they way they do things. Awwww poor consumers. Fuck the guy who makes a better mouse trap if it makes you change the way you use it.
SA Spyder, if the iPad did have flash, it would probably suck like it does on OS X half the time.
Frash came out on the iPad and it worked very well. Way better than it does for Android, even.

I think some people are just upset that Android is so good and industry defining. They change the way people think of tablets and smartphones. Poor those.
I don't know if you were talking about me, but if you did you're a fanboy, if you didn't, I'm sorry.
Flash is dated and is slowing down innovation on the web, we need to surpass its capabilities and Apple are doing a good job of promoting that idea.

Not really, they've made flash a selling point instead. That's not progress.

no I was not referring to you. I have an android Phone and I just bought an iPad 2 yesterday and I am loving it, and I really like my android phone too. I can activate inactive settings preferences and turn my LG Optimus v into a 3G hotspot with unlimited data, I pay only $40/monthly for Virgin mobile. You couldn't do that on an iPhone though. but I am by far more happy using an iOS device despite it's shitty notifications and lack luster, yet functional multitasking. On android, I just get more frustrated more easily with things like browsing (yes I am talking about a tablet Vs. a phone), and with apple I don't think to myself: "Man this would be even better if the actual phone looked and felt better." everything is made to work together.

I don't know where the industry defining came from, then.
I put things like that in my paragraphs to see who is paying attention and thinking ;)
gonna line up tomorrow at 10am, hope I won't be too far back in the line.

Is it a good idea to buy the iPad 2 on the Apple site or is it a better idea to pick it up in a store?
Is it a good idea to buy the iPad 2 on the Apple site or is it a better idea to pick it up in a store?
You'd be waiting a few weeks for shipping if you order online, Jack.
got the 64gb 3g one today, yet to open it.

If you can get to a store in time to pick the one you want up, do it. I ordered my iPad 2 on March 13 and it said April 11th is the day it STARTS shipping.

Yeah, I got one at a store.
- interactive menus on a lot of sites. Want to order Pizza? Schedule an appointment? Get an interactive map for a building? Many sites use Flash for delivering this kind of content, so get your laptop because the iPad can't do it.
- uncrippled YouTube. The YouTube app on the iPad is a joke, and 720p videos take minutes to fully buffer. Putting it side by side with an HP Slate or Eee Slate, they both buffer an entire 1080p video in 10-15 seconds flat. The iPad playback on the other hand freezes every 5 seconds and it takes a good 10 minutes (!) to fully load the video, a 2 minute trailer.
- games. No, Flash games aren't all shitty. You can't possibly say that with the influx of crapware on the App Store.
- you think ads are Flash-exclusive? Not to mention, most ads out there are .gif images, not Flash.
- streaming video from a ton of sites out there. I don't want to wait for some shitty counterpart app to come out that does a half-assed job. I want the full site with the video embedded properly.
Sorry to bring back an old post. But if you are jailbroken, you can simply edit one plist file in iFile, that sets 720 from true to false, plays back in 480p instead.
HD can still be found on m.youtube.com

So, it doesnt do it out of the box, and would a normal user know how to do it?
Just saying, since apple fans like to say that the normal user couldnt give a shit about the multitude of options Android has out of the box.
If I buy the wifi version of the iPad 2, will I be able to connect to the internet via iPhone 4's bluetooth network sharing?

Yes, that is what I do.
No reason to buy a 3g then
Just got mine here in the UK, I love how smooth it feels to use. As well as comparing using safari on the iPod, the iPad just feels great.
QUICK guys how do i get 700 dollars for an iPad in a short amount of time! :kiddo:
2 days to go from China to Carlisle? how much was the postage? das ist fast. MAKE SURE NO ONE GOES ON YOUR TWITTER!
Those are local times, so it only took like 10 hours or something ridiculous.
How much did you save ordering from China?
I didn't. It came from China - presumably that's where they're making them
