I don't know how that's hard to believe. I used to have Orange and got 1 megabit whereas on BT I get 8. They are a terrible ISP and their customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with.
Alot of ISP's "customer satisfaction" is based on location, which can determine your speed from them, and personal experience using the ISP (Depending on your good or bad connection speeds).
If you live 200 miles from your ISP and get shitty connection speeds compaired to a guy that lives just 10 miles from them who gets great connection speeds, it's not really the ISP's fault. I suggest to everyone wanting high internet speeds to pick an ISP that is close to where you live, and see what they have to offer.
Not trolling, just wondering why the UK doesn't have decent internet when it's almost 2010.
There are some areas of the UK with no internet at all. Meanwhile the government is full of corrupt MPs who don't even know what fiber optic internet is, and are thus reluctant to invest. BT on the other hand, is simply lazy, as another poster pointed out.
