Anything above 16GB is pointless as long as they use USB 2.0 It would take almost a day to fill a 256GB up through USB 2.0, if not more. I won't be getting one of these 'til USB 3.0 is mainstream
So the storage space is useless because the transfer speed is slow? Sure I guess I'll just tell that to all the 1TB usb drives around everyone has no problem using and filling up and which sell very well.
It's a nice concept, but I would not spend that much money on a flash drive.

Hmmm... that could be useful.
Woo £502.95 http://www.purelygadgets.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=30841&wysiwyg=10
That's really awesome, but I just couldn't carry something so expensive and small around with me, I'd lose it to easily.
OH MAN THEY HAVE READYBOOST? Hello 256GB of RAM! But yeah. The day I buy a flash drive that costs more than my entire computer is the day they sell flash drives with entire backups of the Internet.
I'd probably replace a finger with it. Make it jointed somehow, job done!

That's really awesome, but I just couldn't carry something so expensive and small around with me, I'd lose it to easily.
Same! I lose everything...
Do they make flash drives that have an eSATA connector instead of USB? I'd buy one.
As has been said above, losing this would lead me to suicide so I'll give it a miss.

Buy 2 of these and they're bigger than my hard drive. Wouldn't a 1TB external hard drive cost the same or a little bit more?
And why would you be transferring 256GB of data at one time anyway?
It takes 26 hours to format a 1TB to NTFS on USB2.0
Buy 2 of these and they're bigger than my hard drive. Wouldn't a 1TB external hard drive cost the same or a little bit more?
You can get a 1TB external for under $100.
Buy 2 of these and they're bigger than my hard drive. Wouldn't a 1TB external hard drive cost the same or a little bit more?
No, because it is more difficult to put all that space into a tiny piece of plastic, whereas with external drives, they've got loads of space. Also, Externals are disks, while flash drives are flash memory.
Excessive much?
For the prices, yes. When the price goes down, this would be kinda cool.

Lol, some retard at Kingston accidentally put a USB connector on it instead of an eSATA port... what a dumbshit. :Dawkins102:
eSATA doesn't supply power.
*Ahem* Also, whoever designed the sata architecture didn't think things through by not including power and data through the same cable.
eSATA doesn't supply power.
You could put a battery in it. EDIT: Last post beat me.

Wouldn't a 1TB external hard drive cost the same or a little bit more?
640GB hard drive = $70 External enclosure = $30 Total cost: $100
There are some hard drive enclosures that use both the USB and the eSata jacks 640GB hard drive = $70 External enclosure = $30 Total cost: $100
Yeah, but the portability of a flash drive is nice.
I want portable eSATA flash drives. They seem so practical... yet there's very little demand for them.
Yeah, but the portability of a flash drive is nice.
id be more than willing to fucking unplug and remove my hardrive for portability if it meant saving $400
I'd probably replace a finger with it. Make it jointed somehow, job done!
Too bad your finger would be obsolete in a few years. Better make it replaceable.
It takes 26 hours to format a 1TB to NTFS on USB2.0
*Heavy weapons guy voice*
Price will come down real fast, remember just a few years ago a 4gb drive was $60. I bought mine for $40, now they're $10.
Yeah, but the portability of a flash drive is nice.
Not 900 dollars worth of nice.
