If I had that much money I'd get some guy to decompile some games (pay him tons) for me and make them work with cluster computing, then get 18 monitors and 18 hardcore computers.

I really think you can do better than a mbp. the ram is tempting, but that's really it's only unique/superior feature.

Just throwing it out there, Alienware's lightest 17" is 11.68lbs, Asus's lightest 17" is 9.3lbs, Gateways lightest 17" is 9.05lbs and HP's lightest 17" is 7.6lbs. You get more than just a name with an Apple laptop.

For me spending the extra on the apple to get the features, the power and the overall build quality is well worth it, In my price bracket the Apple is the best choice. I'm not going to compromise on the laptop I'll use for the next 4 years to save a few dollars on the upfront.
