i7 and Tri-SLI the GTX-285 Franken Card.
the 295 frankencard has two GPUs, so you can only have two cards in a system (for quad-SLi) also it seems people have low expectations for their dream machine, all they do is pick the most powerful parts currently out
If this has been said before, sorry, but that computer that was a tower with 'water' in it, thats not water, it's oil used for cooling the system. Or it could be water, but either way it's there to cool it. I read an article about towers like that, that are oil cooled. They looked really cool, I would want one if I were looking for a stationary computer.

Well since we are talking about dream machines, I guess mine would be made out of custom made parts (custom GPU from Nvidia/Ati, custom CPU from Intel and so on), which is wht I'd do if I was a multi-billionaire. Otherwise I guess that an I7, 12GB DDR3 2000MHz RAM and a top-range Nvidia 300-series (or ATI 5000-series) all cooled with phase-change would do.

Murderbox. Its sick. http://www.murderbox.com/home.html
My dream PC would be one customised by Murderbox.com
if it has to be realistic, then instead of obsessing over murderbox, I'D DO IT MYSELF. really, there is nothing in murderbox you can't do yourself. make your own perfect machine, don't go insane over someone else's.
Specs: # Two 2.93GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon # 32GB (8x4GB) # 4x 1TB 7200-rpm Serial ATA 3Gb/s # 4x NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 512MB # Two 18x SuperDrives # 2x Apple Cinema HD Display (30" flat panel) People rating me dumb and thinking this is a bad computer just because it's apple can go fuck themselves, ignorant retards.
the only good thing about that are the displays and HDDs. It is a shitty computer (read: server) otherwise.
the only good thing about that are the displays and HDDs. It is a shitty computer otherwise.
32GB of RAM and eight cores is shit? Right...
32GB of RAM and eight cores is shit? Right...
for that price? yes it is. and the displays aren't that good anymore. rgb led>led backlit
for that price? yes it is. and the displays aren't that good anymore. rgb led>led backlit
He never said anything about price, he just said it was a "shitty computer", which it clearly isn't.
if it has to be realistic, then instead of obsessing over murderbox, I'D DO IT MYSELF. really, there is nothing in murderbox you can't do yourself. make your own perfect machine, don't go insane over someone else's.
:downs: I can't do it myself because I don't have the skill.
rgb led. this means that each pixel is made of three extremely small leds, so it is almost impossible to have color inaccuracies(unless of course the led's themselves are messed up), because the color doesn't rely on the backlight, the color IS the backlight. really, whats dumb about wanting sentient machines?
I know what RGB LED is, and they supposedly do look very nice, they consume quite a bit more power and have their own limitations when using a professional calibrator, nothing major but they are not perfect yet. Also to get a Dell Precision M6400 with the same specs as a the macbook pro I am going to get, specs being Intel Core 2 Duo 3.06Ghz 4GB DDR3 17" White LED LCD at 1920x1200 500GB 7200RPM HDD 6.6lbs It's going to cost me $2400 after rebates, while a Dell Precision M6400 running Intel Core 2 Duo 3.06Ghz 4GB DDR3 17" RGB LED at 1920x1200 Dual 250GB 7200RPM HDD It would cost $3,627 for the Dell and would weigh 10 pounds and is considerably more bulky with less battery life. For me I think I'll still stick with the MBP.
I kinda Want a MBP Or a Murderbox, But hand-made
A computer that visually displays my thoughts in a desktop like manor whenever I close my eyes. Like having computer screens in your eyelids and you use your hand to interact and your thoughts to type stuff. wouldn't you look like a complete arse with your eyes closed waving your arms everywhere plus you'd hit things/people
http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=hp+pavilion+tx2000z&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi Just something basic, it goes down $100 every year. :v: EDIT: Holy shizzle ninja'd :ninja:
NVIDIA Tesla http://www.nvidia.com/object/personal_supercomputing.html
And what would you do with such a piece of hardware?
people need to stop posting high cost builds and start posting their dream machines
people need to stop posting high cost builds and start posting their dream machines
I want a computer that has infinite computing capacity, that good?
well it's a lot better than wanting a 975 and a 295
