I didn't take it off the desktop it's useless, and my parents thought DELL was the only good computer company and when I got it I didn't know any better.

right click the desktop, scroll to view, unecheck show desktop icons

Right click taskbar > Properties > Customize > Always hide
And clear the desktop icons, and get rid of unnecessary stuff in the quick launch and it will be a 10/10 desktop.
