I've got a question for those who use Rainmeter:
What exactly is the purpose of being reminded of what processor you are running on, or how much disk space all of your disks have? I can understand useful information; i.e. system uptime, RAM usage, or IP address, email inbox, weather, etc.. However, knowing that you are running Windows 7 Ultimate 7600, on an i7 at 1920x1080 screen resolution seems kind of pointless to you as a user.
Am I crazy for thinking this, or is there extra reasoning behind it that I'm not seeing.

On the new computer now, running windows 7 with an i5 and 5850. It's a nice change to be honest.
A lot of redundancy you got going on.

I think some people's Rainmeter info is just for showing off in threads like this.
Maybe they're going for the 'information overload' aesthetic? Making it look all geek-y and tech-y.
Rock hard.

I mostly just look for huge pictures and then crop them myself.

You don't need to splatter your desktop with useless shit to make it look good.[/QUOTE]
Slightly ironic as you have huge icons splattered on your desktop, don't you think?
