God that horrible font rendering.

That's not font rendering. That's just font. Know your facts before you talk. Font rendering on Mac OS X is the greatest. When I moved from Vista to a mac, I just couldn't figure out why website just looked so much better. Here's default font.

I know what I'm talking about, ass. Vertical lines aren't consistent from one to the other. I don't care about the font itself. It's fine. The rendering is what I don't like.
Look at the i in the word minimize in his screen. Each i gets sharper. First blurry as fuck. Second not as bad. Third pretty sharp. i on the next word, blurry as fuck again.
Hell even in your screenshot some of the i's and l's aren't consistent with the others.

I just pointed it out. Get over it.

Also look at "Animate opening applications" (which is sharp) and "Automatically hide and show dock" (which is really blurry). I don't know what they are doing, but god it looks so bad.

It's the font I'm using, it's a modified version of a special Helvetica font that BMW is using.
Advances fonts, like helvetica has special rules to render letter based on their neighbors. Like when an i is between a M and a n it's rendered differently than it's normally done, all because of the human eye.
I've aslo changed my font smoothing to more because I've got glasses and the normal one is hard to read for me.

Honestly, can you go a single day without completely redoing your desktop?
The only reason that I fuck around with my desktop is because there's parts of it I don't like. But I'm working towards some final goal so as time goes on there are less parts that I'm unsatisfied with.

Maybe it's your monitor because it all looks the same to me.
No, they're definitely different
Did you guys even see my post? It explains why they're different.
I read it, I was just pointing it out that they ARE different, because Maccabee seems to be disagreeing ;)
Anyway; time to get back on topic
Tiling.
Yeah. I was going to make a new one that doesn't tile, using the groth strip, but the image is like 5600x40000px, and all of it is awesome. I can't bring myself to choose just 2560x1024 of it.
Okay, it just occurred to me that I can just cut out a bunch of sections of this as separate wallpapers, and have windows 7 cycle them. I have enough pixels in this image so that you could potentially be seeing a completely different section of sky every time you look at my desktop. This shit is going to be awesome.

I get sick of looking at the same thing every few hours. Besides, I find it fun to customize my desktop.
