This is my first build! Thanks to the people who suggested me the parts and stuff :buddy:
They don't make PHYSx cards anymore. I can't get rid of it though, I need the extra VRAM. The case is hand air brushed, and I got an awesome coffee mug with the Falcon.
Nice quote of my post btw :fuckyou:

Good job making it work! I've been seeing far too many failures on first builds lately.

Can you really use it as vram?
It appears to function as VRAM at least(the drivers are a bitch though). It certainly helps in oblivion. I will have to run some tests and see. I officially cannot wait to upgrade it though. Only thing I am keeping is the GPUs and the PHYSx card.

Can I have the case? :buddy:
I feel like an ass now- I am keeping the GPUs, the case, and the PSU.
Sorry :smith:

Lol you don't have to feel like an asshole. I've got a micro ATX build, so I doubt the case is compatible. I probably would've had to send it back/sell it on eBay.
You sell stuff on youtube?
You sell stuff on youtube?
Yes. I'm a magician.
I fixed it. Thanks for pointing that out.
I sell myself on youtube. It's working pretty well.

I want to do the same. I'm planning a lets play of some older games.
If I had better working internet connection, or a working router, I'd be putting out so much more, but it takes me 5-6 hours to upload a single video normally because it fails so much.
Hopefully once I get a new router I can put out so much more. I record like 1-2 hours in a sitting, which makes 8 episodes-ish. I tend to do most or all of my recording on friday or saturday night. I record from like 12am to 2am, then edit from 2am to like 5am.
Tough work for quality video.
Edit: Look at me. derailing the thread, sorry.

My friend gave me one of the intel cpu coolers that looks like that.
Would it be worth it to swap it with the even more generic black-square/stock HP cooler that I currently have?
My AMD Athlon II X4 630 idles at ~40 C. Is that good?

PSU SALAD, it's far better now..
It should look bad back there, that means a big part of the cables are hid.

40c is fine on a stock cooler. If you're looking for a replacement just pick up a Hyper 212+
I'm using what some would consider a stock cooler... I'm getting 29 C... Why is his soooo much hotter?
oh wow, do they even make physx cards anymore? :v:
Technically yes. You can make ordinary nvidia cards be set as a dedicated PhysX card.
Never knew that. Not too worried on replacing the GPUS quite yet, they do quite alright (SupCom FA at max :D). However, the RAM and Mobo are especially inadequate.

I got ~28 °C on my stock cooler.
My Noctua NH-D14 does like 33c, 35c, 36c, 38c idle on my i7 2600k in my 79-80f room here in florida.
I think I need to re-apply less compound.

My 212+ does 32C when idle on my Athlon 2 250 overclocked to 3,6GHz. When I just had upgraded my computer it did 30C after 40 mins in OCCT. And I think i used a bit too much paste. Covered the whole heatspreader in a thin layer. Atleast it wasn't anything going over the edge (maybe a tiny bit :ohdear:).
I did the rice method but the MX-4 comes out quick.

I used the one that came with the heatsink. Also found a a braided IDE cable along my diverse computer stuff.
What program do you use to check pc temps?
What program do you use to check pc temps?
HW Monitor.

I use Coretemp
Coretemp ftw. I idle at 27C on a stock cooler. I hit 35 in games.

This normal? what's tmpin2?
[editline]27th June 2011[/editline]
google searches bring up that it's normal to be that high. Anyone else has that?
Probably your northbridge. my 680i normally went up to 80c while rendering, and given that nvidia's chipsets are notorious for eating children and burning small churches it's not surprising.
My z68 however sits comfortably at 35c.
What is your chipset?
AMD phenom x4
Looks like everything is withing normal temps, except tmpin2 but google shows that everyone has that
