The CR-48 for instance, who makes computers like that anymore, it looks bloody brilliant!
Simple and black. Just the way i like it. They're always showered in stickers, logos and other unnecessary "details" nowadays.

If only you could custom build laptops too.
If only you could custom build laptops too.
You can
You can
What? how? [editline]15th July 2011[/editline] Can you buy an empty chassis or something?
maingear, cyberpower, etc all make custom laptops.
maingear, cyberpower, etc all make custom laptops.
That isn't exactly like building it yourself. I'm excited for the day when you CAN build your laptop from parts in the same way you do a desktop though. I doubt it will happen, sadly.
there are some barebones laptops out there, pretty sure OCZ used to do some but I don't know of any others off the top of my head yeah some parts like the mobo are proprietary and have to be because every laptop is different size/shape/whatever, but standardised stuff like the RAM, CPU, wireless NIC, MXM graphics cards etc. are bought separately and you install them yourself but it's not worth it as it doesn't have the benefits of building your own desktop, like there's not really anything to customise on a laptop and it ends up being more expensive
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811121096 Thats the case except now its blue fan is in the back and I have a cheap red fan cooling my too hard drives and sucking in cool air from the bottom front.
Don't have a camera on me right now, but here are some pictures of the laptop: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?nm_mc=AFC-TechBargains&cm_mmc=AFC-TechBargains-_-NA-_-NA-_-NA&Item=N82E16834200142 It's an amazing laptop IMO.
My ram is 1mhz faster then yours.
I actually just fixed it to be the correct speed for this ram:
Take that red button and rig it to be the power button on your computer
I did do that, or not yet. I have taken it home. Will try to do that later when I get time. [editline]17th July 2011[/editline]
always try typing on old keyboards, it might be mechanical
Some buttons felt broken and the cable was broken so it was to no use.

I would post pictures of the computer and it's insides, but I don't have a camera on me at the moment, besides i'm upgrading all of it soon enough. Also, I assume the CPU is getting a tad too hot :v:
I would post pictures of the computer and it's insides, but I don't have a camera on me at the moment
You didn't even bother making a MSPAINT drawing instead? aww :saddowns:

Also, I assume the CPU is getting a tad too hot :v:
I hate to sound paranoid, but I would worry very much if my X2 555 even reached 60 degrees Celsius. I've lost a few components because of this issue (namely, an GPU and a PSU), so I absolutely make sure that my personal computer has fantastic thermal management.
Not sure if I want to switch cases. I'd like to get a HAF case. Do HAF cases work with Micro-ATX boards? :v:
Yes.
The best I can do on my budget. I'm definitely satisfied, though. [editline]17th July 2011[/editline] Also, no picture of the insides, because my cable management is saddening...
DDR3 on socket 775 ....
yes, those boards exist.
DDR3 on socket 775 ....
I have the same thing. [editline]17th July 2011[/editline] Quite a few 775 boards support DDR3.
Im saying it as more of a bad thing not that i didnt know they exist.
What CPU cooler are you buying Thor? It's a..late question but there's nothing else to discuss.
Im saying it as more of a bad thing not that i didnt know they exist.
How is it bad? Doesn't matter to me really since I got the cpu, motherboard, and ram for free anyway. Plus I'm upgrading soon too.
How is it bad? Doesn't matter to me really since I got the cpu, motherboard, and ram for free anyway.
