On my main rig I need at least three, Dvd drive, 3.5 converter for memory cards and a bay for my fan controller. My other two PCs have none, I drag them next to my main pc if I need to install an OS by CD.
That said my case is a full tower not a mid tower like above.

I can live happily with no front bays. I have 4 computers in my household and can easily throw Windows or and distro I want onto a flash drive and boot from usb.
I think two would be perfect, if they went with none they'd be alienating quite a few people who still use DVD drives, fan controllers and media card readers.

I agree. There is one upside to having a bunch of empty 5.25" drive bays though. You can fill them with intake fans. On my Black Pearl, I had 7 bays and no drives, so I used these.

Aw, if those weren't discontinued I would have bought one.
Me too, there's probably others like it though, to google!
I wish there was one of those with an air filter in
if they sold those, i'd buy one.
What case manufacturer thought it would be a good idea to have that many optical drive slots? I mean jesus I have four on my case and I feel that's enough, I don't even use one of them, you should get two on a case as standard from 2011 onwards.
Although I do understand if it's an old case.
my case has 5 too

That was the main issue with the ones I have. They were excellent for improving airflow, but they brought a lot of dust into my pc as well.
terrible looking
People always say that but I just got one and it looks big and thick and sturdy and great, its a no nonsense aesthetic that as far as I can tell has the best performance in the price range.

I've used Antec cases, Lian-Li cases, NZXT cases, and other Cooler Master cases in builds for either my self or friends and I've always found the HAF cases to be the best. Sure they may look odd or whatever but you really do get your money's worth.
Just did some actual cable cleanup in my computer, it has looked like a mess for ages, and now it doesn't look that bad actually! I'll see if I can get some pictures up later.
Very dusty, it hasn't had a clean-out in months.

Desk needs cleaning up, just never got round to it...

My main complaint about the HAF series of cases is the start button location.
It works well for me.
I have mine set up so the bottom of the case is my head height though...
Got a new power supply.

Box says $114.99 but I got for $74.99 because Micro Center has awesome monthly deals. This was the last one in stock too.

The red they used looks really nice in person, my crappy iPhone 4 camera doesn't do it justice and I can't find my actual camera.

Out with the old.

In with the new. That's the best I can do with the cables, I tried to reinstall the SSD thingy to cover up those wires but it didn't fit back into place so I used an adjustable/reusable cable tie to keep them tidy lol.

I just read about UV "painting" and I'm considering doing it on my computer, I think it would add a unique touch to it. Would be interesting to try out.

whats that power supply like im thinking of getting the 900w version
whats that power supply like im thinking of getting the 900w version
So far it's great, I would recommend it. A friend of mine has the 750w version also and neither of us have had a single issue with them.
It's larger than the avcerage power supply slightly in length. The HAF 912 has a SSD bay on the bottom and to fit this power supply in I have to remove it.
I really hope you plan on fixing those cables.
Of course, I'm buying another 550Ti for SLI, and then i'll be tearing apart all of that. I need to get myself a Modular Power Supply.
